Summary
Barcelona clinched the 2025 Joan Gamper trophy with a crushing 5-0 win over Como at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday, 10 August 2025. Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal both scored braces and Raphinha scored a goal to cap off a five-star display from the best club in the world.
Como began the game in blistering fashion, creating a chance in the first minute that was saved by Joan Garcia. After riding out the early pressure, Barcelona got into their groove and took the lead in the 21st minute when Fermin Lopez latched onto a poor pass before sweetly guiding a left-footed shot into the bottom corner. The Spanish midfielder helped double his side's lead in the 35th minute, getting at the end of a rebound to beautifully shoot an effort into the top corner.
Once they got going, Barcelona showed zero signs of slowing down. They made it 3-0 in the 38th minute as a slick counter-attack saw Marcus Rashford tee up Raphinha for a tap-in. Ballon d'Or nominee Raphinha then helped create a tap-in goal for Lamine Yamal in the 42nd minute, giving the La Liga giants a 4-0 lead heading into the break! Yamal completed his brace with a brilliant bottom corner curler in the 49th minute to make it 5-0! Both teams had a few chances late on, but the scoreline remained the same as Barcelona won the Joan Gamper trophy in style.
