While Dean Henderson could do nothing but watch during the first goal, the goalkeeper committed too much when Frimpong scored the second goal over his head. Overall, he had a poor game today!

Chris Richards- 5/10

Chris Richards was the defender in the backline who had the worst game today. From poor marking to making unnecessary challenges, he certainly did not live up to the expectations in the first half.

Marc Guehi- 5.5/10

It was an average defensive performance from Marc Guehi today. While he looked sharp on the left side, he was outplayed by both Salah and Frimpong from time to time. Poor marking and tactical awareness were one of the biggest reasons behind the 2nd goal of Liverpool.

Maxence Lacroix- 5.5/10

Maxence Lacroix took the center spot in the defensive line today for Crystal Palace. In the first half, he had a solid presence in the backline and had a better game compared to his defensive peers.

Daniel Munoz- 6/10

If there is one player in the Palace who had a great game, it will be Daniel Munoz. From creating chances to helping his team with the build-up by dropping deep, he had major contributions to the game today.

By the end of the first half, Tyrick Mitchell had ensured an 88% passing accuracy. He had a key pass in the first half that almost opened up an opportunity for Palace. Moreover, he won all his ground duels in the first half.

Ismaila Sarr- 6/10

It is not often that we see such an average performance from Ismaila Sarr. By the end of the first half, Ismaila Sarr had maintained 67% passing accuracy. He lost the majority of his aerial and ground duels. Moreover, he lost possession of the ball 5 times. However, he made up for it in the 2nd half when he scored the equalizer.

Eberechi Eze- 5.5/10

Even though we did not get to see the magic of Eberechi Eze in today's important game, he was still crucial for Palace today. He maintained a total of 92% passing accuracy by the end of the first half. However, there were multiple times when he lost possession of the ball today.

Calm as you like, Jean-Philippe Mateta had a great game today for Palace. The Frenchman kept his composure from the penalty spot when he levelled the score for Palace in the 17th minute.

Liverpool's savior, Alisson Becker, did it again today. He was the last line of defense for Liverpool on multiple occasions. From 1v1 saves to solid command in the goal, he was great today! However, he couldn't save the Mateta penalty.

Defenders

Milos Kerkez- 5.5/10

Milos Kerkez was not as sharp as he usually is. However, it is the first game of the season for the Hungarian. Moreover, up until Liverpool conceded the first goal, he was required to focus on his defensive duties.

Virgil van Dijk- 5.5/10

It wasn't the best start for Virgil van Dijk today. Even though he had a solid command of the backline, it was his poor awareness that caused the penalty. That being said, the Dutch captain had a great rest of the game.

Ibrahima Konate- 6.5/10

Liverpool cannot ask for a better defensive partner than Virgil van Dijk. Ibrahima Konate proved once again why he is the enforcer of Liverpool's defense. From recoveries to making bold interceptions, he has been phenomenal today for the Reds.

Jeremie Frimpong- 7/10

As great Jeremie Frimpong was with his defensive duties today, he was exceptional going forward. Call it a cross or an intentional chip, the finish from the Dutchman was just sublime, which gave Liverpool the lead again.

Midfielders

Dominik Szoboszlai- 6/10

Even though Dominik Szoboszlai did not play the box-to-box midfielder role today, it was still not off the cards, as we saw many glimpses of it during the match today. Hardly anyone in the team gets close to his work rate throughout the season.

Curtis Jones- 6/10

Curtis Jones played a deeper role for the team today as the Scouser was seen playing a couple of touches with the defenders from time to time to rally the team forward. Safe to say he played his role well today.

Cody Gakpo- 6/10

Cody Gakpo looked sharp today, as he has been last season. His blistering pace and ball progression today were especially highlights. Moreover, the chemistry between him and the striker looked sharp and caused a lot of trouble for Palace.

Florian Wirtz- 6.5/10

Slot allowed Florian Wirtz to have a free role, in which the German midfielder thrived. From bagging the assist in Liverpool's first goal to creating chances in tight spaces, he has been a handful for Palace today.

Mo Salah- 6.5/10

Mo Salah looked as sharp as he has been recently. It is a wonder how he keeps on being impressive season after season. Every time he had the ball at the right flank today, Palace defenders were quick to queue up. Given his conversion rates, it makes sense why the Palace defenders were in a rush.

Hugo Ekitike- 7/10

It took Hugo Ekitike just 4 minutes to answer the big question of whether he could live up to the price tag. It is no wonder that Dean Henderson was beaten, given the shot had both power and precision.
