Barcelona vs Valencia Player Ratings

La lIga side FC Barcelona put on a footballing masterclass at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, completely dismantling a helpless Valencia side in this La Liga encounter. The final score of 6-0 barely does justice to the gulf in class we witnessed on the pitch. This was one-way traffic from the first whistle to the last. Hansi Flick's Barcelona entered their match against Valencia with a rotated squad, missing key attackers like Raphinha and Lewandowski from the starting lineup, while Lamine Yamal was sidelined by injury. To compensate, Flick deployed Rooney, Marcus Rashford, and Ferran Torres in the forward line, alongside other changes. Gerard Martin replaced left back Alejandro Balde in defense, and Marc Casado was put into the defensive midfield role in place of Frenkie de Jong.

FC Barcelona were simply relentless. They moved the ball with a speed and precision that Valencia just couldn't live with. The midfield, orchestrated by the sublime Pedri, was untouchable, and the forwards were clinical and ruthless. It felt like every attack could lead to a goal. However, the visitors were able to stop the Catalan side till the 20th minute with their high pressing, which has been proven effective against a team trying to play high-line defensive. Although, after giving their best in the opening, players Valencia settled down in their own half, which invited Barcelona players.

The floodgates opened with Fermín Lopez and from there, it was an avalanche. Valencia's defense crumbled under the pressure, making costly errors that were gleefully punished. You have to feel for them, but honestly, they were passengers for most of this Match. It was a statement victory for Barca after Flick hinted in his post-match conference after the Vallecano draw that ego was overshadowing team play. The Barcelona players responded with a united performance, demonstrating to their manager that the squad is cohesive and ready to tackle any challenge.

Goalkeeper

Joan García - 6.5: Let's be honest, he had very little to do. Valencia barely threatened his goal, so he was mostly a spectator. He kept his concentration when needed and distributed the ball well. An easy clean sheet.

Defenders

Pau Cubarsí - 7.5: The young defender looked incredibly composed. He won nearly all his duels and his passing out from the back was crisp and accurate. He read the game beautifully, making a key interception and several clearances. What stood out to us was his maturity beyond his years.

Gerard Martín - 8.0: An excellent performance on the flank. He was a menace going forward, creating a great chance, and was rock-solid at the back. He won a staggering number of his duels and made crucial tackles and clearances. A very complete full-back display.

Jules Koundé - 7.0: A solid, if unspectacular, game from the Frenchman. He did his defensive duties without any fuss, winning his battles and using his pace to cover well. We noticed he was tidy in possession, rarely giving the ball away. A reliable presence.

Eric García - 7.0: Much like his defensive partners, he had a comfortable evening. His passing was a highlight, with a 94% accuracy rate and a couple of key passes. He was strong in the tackle and positioned himself well to snuff out any potential danger.

Midfielders

Pedri - 8.5: Simply majestic. He was the conductor of the orchestra, dictating the tempo of the entire game with over 100 passes. What really impressed us was his intelligence and ability to find space. He recovered the ball nine times, showing his defensive work rate too. A class apart.

Marc Casadó - 7.5: A really tidy performance in the holding role. He kept the ball moving with an exceptional 94% pass accuracy and wasn't afraid to get forward, even chipping in with an assist. He protected the back four diligently, showing great positional sense throughout the match.

R. Bardghji - 6.5: Played the first half and showed some bright sparks. He had a couple of shots and looked to be positive on the ball. He worked hard but was substituted at halftime as the team looked for even more cutting edge. A decent, if brief, outing for the youngster.

Forwards

Ferran Torres - 6.0: It was a frustrating day at the office for Ferran. He was a livewire and got into great positions but his finishing let him down. He hit the woodwork and missed two big chances. You could see the disappointment; it just wasn't his day in front of goal despite getting an assist.

Marcus Rashford - 7.0: A mixed bag but ultimately effective. He created three chances and got a crucial assist for the second goal. However, his decision-making was sometimes questionable, and he lost possession quite a bit. Still, his pace was a constant threat that Valencia couldn't handle.

Fermín López - 10: A perfect performance. The highest rated player on the pitch by a mile. He was absolutely sensational, scoring two goals and terrorizing the Valencia defence with five shots. His energy was infectious and his quality was undeniable. We couldn't find a single fault in his game; he was the star of the show.

Substitutes

Raphinha - 8.5: Came on at halftime and immediately changed the game. Scored two goals with clinical finishing. His directness and desire to shoot were exactly what the team needed to turn dominance into a rout.

Robert Lewandowski - 8.0: Entered the fray and instantly looked sharp. He got his goal with a cool finish, a typical poacher's effort. His presence alone seemed to unsettle the already shaken Valencia defence.

Dani Olmo - 7.0: Looked lively after coming on, linking up play well and firing a shot just over the bar. Kept the pressure on.

Jofre Torrents - N/A: Came on late with the game already won.

Marc Bernal - N/A: A late substitute to see out a dominant victory.

Manager

H. Flick - 8.5: His game plan worked to perfection. The team was set up to attack from the get-go and they executed it flawlessly. His halftime substitution of Raphinha was a masterstroke that blew the game wide open. A perfect start.

Goalkeeper

Julen Agirrezabala - 6.5: A bizarrely high rating for a keeper who conceded six, but it's deserved. He made five saves, some of them spectacular, to stop this from being an even bigger embarrassment. From our perspective, he was let down horribly by his defence. Without him, this could have been double digits.

Defenders

José Copete - 4.0: A disastrous performance. He was responsible for an error leading to a goal and looked completely out of his depth. He struggled to handle the movement of Barça's forwards and was constantly pulled out of position. A day he'll want to forget immediately.

Mouctar Diakhaby - 5.0: Fought hard but was ultimately overwhelmed. He made a few important clearances but also committed some clumsy fouls, earning a yellow card. He was substituted after 65 minutes of chasing shadows. A tough evening.

César Tárrega - 4.5: Looked shaky from the start. He lost possession frequently and struggled in his duels. While he made a couple of last-man tackles, the sheer volume of attacks was too much for him to handle. Conceding six goals is a grim statistic for any defender.

José Gayà - 5.0: The captain tried to lead by example but it was a lost cause. He was caught out defensively and his error leading to a goal was a killer blow. He couldn't provide his usual attacking thrust as he was pinned back all game. A very difficult match for him.

Dimitri Foulquier - 4.0: He had a torrid time. From our view, he was a clear weak link, losing six of his nine duels and committing several fouls. He offered very little going forward and was repeatedly beaten by his opposite number. A performance to forget.

Midfielders

Javi Guerra - 5.0: He was completely overrun in midfield. He lost the ball far too often and couldn't get a foothold in the game. It was a thankless task trying to compete with Barça's midfield trio. Substituted before the hour mark.

Diego López - 5.0: Another midfielder who was largely anonymous. His pass completion was incredibly low, and he was dispossessed too easily. He just couldn't cope with the intensity and quality of the opposition. It was a surprise he stayed on for as long as he did.

Baptiste Santamaria - 4.5: He was meant to be the shield, but the shield was broken. He made an error that led to a shot and lost all of his duels. His passing was wayward and he offered no protection to his beleaguered backline. A really poor showing.

Forwards

Arnaut Danjuma - 5.5: Starved of service for the most part. He worked hard and won a few tackles, which says a lot about how the game went. He had little opportunity to show his attacking talents before being substituted. A frustrating evening for him.

Hugo Duro - 5.0: Battled hard but was isolated up front. He won a few aerial duels but spent most of the game chasing defenders and trying to hold up long balls. He was a willing runner but had absolutely no support or service.

Substitutes

Largie Ramazani - 5.5: Came on and had a shot that went wide, but made little impact otherwise. The game was already lost.

Filip Ugrinic - 5.0: Brought on to add some stability but the floodgates were already open. Chased shadows.

Luis Rioja - 5.5: At least he forced a save, which is more than most of his teammates can say. A brief spark.

Thierry Correia - 5.0: Replaced the struggling Diakhaby and fared no better against the relentless Barça attack.

Lucas Beltrán - 5.0: Ran around a bit but the game was long over as a contest.

Manager

C. Corberán Vallet - 4.0: His team was tactically outclassed from start to finish. They had no answer to Barcelona's system, and his side looked disorganized and demoralized. The substitutions did nothing to change the flow of the game. A brutal day at the office.
