Liverpool 2-0 Fulham Player Ratings: Ngumoha 8.5/10 MOTM as Reds' Secures a Comfortable 2-0 Victory at Home

Liverpool vs Fulham Player Ratings

A blistering first-half performance was all it took for Liverpool to see off a resilient Fulham side at Anfield. The Reds stormed to a 2-0 lead before the break and professionally managed the game from there. From our perspective, this was a classic game of two halves.

The deadlock was broken by a fantastic strike from the young Rio Ngumoha, who looked electric throughout his time on the pitch. Just moments later, the ever-reliable Mohamed Salah pounced to double the advantage, effectively ending the contest. It felt like Fulham just couldn't handle the pace and intensity in that first period.

Fulham did show fight in the second half, creating a few half-chances but ultimately lacking the cutting edge to trouble the Liverpool backline. This Premier League match was a perfect example of Liverpool's ability to kill a game early and then control it completely. Here are Sportsdunia's Liverpool vs Fulham player ratings.

Liverpool Player Ratings vs Fulham

Here are the Liverpool player ratings vs Fulham.

Goalkeeper

Giorgi Mamardashvili - 7.5: What stood out to us was his concentration. He wasn't peppered with shots but made four important saves when called upon. His save from Alex Iwobi in the first half was particularly sharp, and he claimed high balls with real authority. A very solid and reassuring performance between the sticks.

Defenders

Virgil van Dijk - 7.5: The captain was his usual colossal self. He won most of his aerial battles, made a crucial six clearances, and just radiated calm. He led the backline with ease, and you could see his frustration when he missed a headed chance from a corner. Still a dominant display.

Ibrahima Konaté - 6.5: A bit of a mixed bag from our perspective. While he didn't make any glaring errors, he looked less composed than his partner. He lost a couple of key duels but his passing was tidy enough, helping to build from the back. A decent, if unspectacular, outing.

Andrew Robertson - 7.0: A typical all-action performance from the left-back. He was a constant outlet on the wing, though he did lose possession more than he would have liked. He created a chance and forced a save with a powerful shot, always looking to impact the game offensively.

Jeremie Frimpong - 6.5: We thought he had a steady game before being substituted. He was defensively sound and did his job without any fuss. He didn't offer the same attacking threat we've seen in other games, but it was a disciplined performance.

Midfielders

Florian Wirtz - 8.0: A joy to watch. His creativity was on full display as he laid on a perfect assist for the first goal and carved out another big chance. His passing was almost flawless. He'll be disappointed to have missed a big chance himself, but his overall contribution was immense.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 8.0: An absolute machine in the middle of the park. His range of passing was incredible, with 10 of his 11 long balls finding their man. He broke up play with four interceptions and just seemed to be everywhere. A complete midfield performance that controlled the game's tempo.

Mohamed Salah - 8.5: The Egyptian King was a constant menace. He took his goal with clinical precision and was always looking to get a shot off, registering five in total. Yes, he lost the ball a lot, but that's because he plays on the edge, always trying to make something decisive happen. A true match-winner and one of our highest-rated players.

Curtis Jones - 6.5: It was a shame his game was cut short by injury. He was so tidy in possession, keeping everything ticking over with a near-perfect pass accuracy. He didn't do anything spectacular, but he didn't need to. A solid, understated 45 minutes.

Rio Ngumoha - 8.5: What a performance. He announced himself with a brilliantly taken opening goal, showing composure beyond his years. He was a livewire, creating chances and terrifying the defence with his pace. From our perspective, he was the spark that ignited the victory and deservedly our man of the match.

Forwards

Cody Gakpo - 7.0: A slightly frustrating day for the forward. He provided an assist for Salah's goal but was wasteful himself, missing a big chance. His work rate, however, was fantastic, and he constantly pressed and harried the Fulham backline. An important, if imperfect, contribution.

Substitutes

Ryan Gravenberch - 6.5: Slotted into midfield well and helped maintain control.

Alexis Mac Allister - 6.5: Brought his usual calmness to the midfield to see the game out.

Alexander Isak - N/A.

Joe Gomez - N/A.

Trey Nyoni - N/A.

Manager

A. Slot - 8.0: His plan worked to perfection. He sent his team out to attack from the start, and the first-half blitz won them the game. His management in the second half was pragmatic and intelligent, ensuring there was no way back for the opposition.

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno - 6.5: There wasn't much he could do about either of the goals; both were clinical finishes. He made three other saves to stop the score from getting worse. A tough day at the office for the German keeper, but he wasn't at fault.

Defenders

Calvin Bassey - 7.0: Easily Fulham's best defender. He was thrown into the fire and responded with six clearances and five tackles. He stood up to the Liverpool onslaught bravely. It was a strong individual performance despite the result.

Joachim Andersen - 6.5: The captain tried his best to organise a defence under siege. He was composed on the ball and even ventured forward to have a couple of shots. A solid enough display but ultimately part of a defence that was opened up too easily in the first half.

Timothy Castagne - 7.0: One of the few Fulham players who can hold his head high. He created an impressive three chances from his defensive position and even forced a save with a header. A really good, battling performance.

Antonee Robinson - 6.5: He had a really difficult assignment against Mohamed Salah but stuck to his task. He made a number of important tackles and interceptions. It was a hardworking display before he was substituted.

Midfielders

Harry Wilson - 6.0: A quiet return to his old stomping ground. He created one big chance but was largely anonymous for long spells. We expected more from him, but he just couldn't get into the rhythm of the game.

Oscar Bobb - 6.0: Had one decent shot on target but struggled to make any real impact. It was no surprise to see him taken off at halftime. A learning experience for the young player at a tough ground like Anfield.

Sander Berge - 6.5: Kept things neat and tidy in the midfield with good passing. He also made a couple of important interceptions. However, he failed to really impose himself on the game and drive his team forward.

Alex Iwobi - 7.0: We noticed he was one of Fulham's most positive players. He was always willing to take possession and try to make things happen, forcing a good save in the first half. A bright spark in a difficult match.

Josh King - 5.5: A really poor performance. He was completely anonymous in the first half, touching the ball only 17 times. It felt like the game passed him by entirely, and his substitution was inevitable. Our worst performer of the match.

Forwards

Rodrigo Muniz - 6.0: He worked tirelessly up front and was a real handful in the air, winning seven aerial duels. His finishing let him down, though, as he missed a big chance. A battling performance but lacked the required quality in the final third.

Substitutes

Emile Smith Rowe - 6.0: Looked lively but couldn't provide the spark needed.

Sasa Lukic - 6.0: Helped Fulham gain a bit more control in the second half.

Ryan Sessegnon - N/A.

Raúl Jiménez - N/A.

Samuel Chukwueze - N/A.

Manager

M. Saraiva Da Silva - 6.0: His team were caught cold in the first half, and his game plan didn't seem to work. The half-time substitutions improved things, but it was too little, too late. He'll be disappointed with how easily his team were beaten.
