Palmeiras Owners Controversy
Palmeiras owner, Leila Pereira, became the target of the protest of some fans, who were unhappy with Leila Pereira's presidential tenure, as they started unilateraly protesting against her, in a match against Atletico-MG, where they made a tifo of Palmeiras' official jersey and painted it white color on the sponsors name.
The companies were Crefisa and FAM, which were owned by Leila Pereira and her husband, sparking suspicion among the fans. The reason for the protest was a defeat in the semifinal match against Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores.
The fans chanted against the team's weak mentality, weak leadership, and they were tired of Leila Pereira's weak management, as Leila Pereira is the first female president of the Palmeiras club, but this could also have been influenced by the supporters' bias based on certain Brazilian stereotypes towards the female president.
