Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 9 Adds a Ruler That Changes Everything

Supercell has revealed new updates that will soon be introduced in the Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 9. It will be active from May 26 to July 13, 2026. In this new season, many new features have been added to this game mode. A new Ruler, new Ruler Quests, Equipment, and more equipment will also be added. Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 9: Every New Feature Explained

Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 9 introduces the new Tomb Queen Ruler, bringing the new Hero showcased in Clash Royale TV Royale May 2026 to this game mode.

Here is a list of all new things coming with the next Clash Royale Merge Tactics update.

New Ruler: Tomb Queen, Returning Ruler: Echo Sage

Clash Royale Tomb Queen is the new Ruler coming to Clash Royale Merge Tactics. Her ability is called Regal Revive; she spawns a Skeleton-spawning Tombstone on the arena every round. Whenever this Tombstone gets destroyed, Tomb Queen will rise from its place on the battlefield.

Since Tombstone is a building, it cannot be removed after the first round. Moreover, the Skeletons spawned will count towards the Undead Trait, which levels up after spawning 4, 8, and 16 Skeletons. She also has three unlockable cosmetics: Fury Queen, Noir Queen, and the Harrowing Haunt confetti.

Echo Sage is also returning to the Starsteel Road in the next Clash Royale Merge Tactics season. Next season is the perfect time to collect new cosmetics in the Echo Sage's Ruler Reward track and unlock this returning Hero after the Clash Royale Merge Tactics season 8 gave us the Grand Warden.

Ruler Quests Orbs

Ruler Quests are a set of three, with each Ruler receiving a set according to the new Clash Royale Merge Tactics patch notes. These are mini-objectives you must complete every match to get Quest Orbs. These new Quest Orbs are a mechanic that allows you to gain additional troops, elixir, and Equipment.

When you complete Ruler Quests, you will get Quest Orbs. These items will also provide unique troops only available for the duration of the match. Depending on the quest, you can get additional elixir, unique troops, and equipment. Here is a list of all the new Clash Royale Ruler Quests:

• Royale King: Lose 2/3/4 rounds.
• Spirit Empress: Merge 3/15/50 troops.
• Goblin Queen: Get 3/10/25 from the Goblin's Trait or the Goblin Queen's passive ability.
• Elixir Loong: Win 2/3/5 rounds in a row.
• Battle Machine: Your buildings destroy 2/8/20 troops.
• Echo Sage: Knockout 2/6/18 troops.
• Dagger Duchess: Win 1/2/4 rounds in less than 8 seconds (each round)
• Grand Warden: Shields affect 3/10/25 troops.
• Tomb Queen: Tombstone summons 10/25/80 troops.

New Equipment

Completing Ruler Quests will now give you Equipment for your troops by dragging and placing it over your army before combat starts. Here is a list of all the equipment that will be made available with the next Clash Royale Merge Tactics update:

• Assassin Blade: Equipped troop jumps to the enemy backline and gains bonus attack speed (when combat starts).
• Juggernaut Armor: Grants a control-immunity shield along with troops behind it (when combat starts).
• Ranger Crossbow: Get a bonus attack speed modifier that increases with hits, going up to 20x.
• Superstar Ring: Gain max ability bar with a 50% chance to recast ability (when combat starts).
• Clan Horn: Troop gains Clan Trait
• Forest Flute: Gain Forest Trait
• Goblin Lute: Gain Goblin Trait
• Noble Trumpet: Gain Noble Trait
• Undead Drum: Gain Undead Trait

New and Reworked Cards

Several older troops are getting reworked next season, along with several new ones being introduced. The new troops are:

• Boss Bandit (Boss)
• Firecracker (Forest)
• Goblin Cage (Goblin)
• Magic Archer (Forest)

Here are some changes that will be made to returning troops next season:

• Bomber (Undead)
• Mega Knight (Boss)
• Mini P.E.K.K.A. (Boss)
• Skeleton Dragon (Undead)
• Skeleton King (Undead)

New and Reworked Traits

Many new Clash Royale Merge Tactics Traits are being added, like

• Forest: Forest troop with the lowest HP% gains invisibility and bonus attack speed for 2.5 seconds every few seconds.
• Boss: Boss troops are only found from Quest orbs. They have bonus HP and damage.

In addition to these new traits, here are a few older traits getting reworks:

• Clan: Troops gain bonus HP while the strongest one gains bonus attack speed.
• Royal: Troops deal bonus damage while taking less.
• Goblin: Grants an Orb with a random Goblin. Fully activating this Trait gives you multiple Goblins per round.
• Undead: Each ally defeated (any trait) increases the HP of all Undead troops and their damage until the game ends.

Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 9 Modifiers

Finally, we have new Clash Royale Merge Tactics modifiers available this season. They are as follows, depending on your rank:

• Last Survivor (Bronze II)
• Orb Galore (Bronze III)
• Abyss Tile (Bronze III)
