Inter Milan vice president Javier Zanetti assured fans that Lautaro Martinez will continue at the club next season as captain and sign a contract extension.

As Lautaro Martinez led Inter Milan to their first scudetto since the 2020-21 campaign, Inter fans were a bit anxious regarding the striker’s future at the club as rumors surrounding his departure in the summer window made waves. The club captain has been crucial in leading the club to the Serie A trophy as he has scored a whopping 23 goals in the league till now. If Lautaro was to depart, the club would certainly suffer in front of goal.

However, reassuring fans Inter vice president Javier Zanetti guaranteed the stay of Lautaro Martinez at the club next season. Speaking to DAZN, Zanetti said, “He’s extending the contract, he’s staying.” Adding to the statement further, Zanetti also said, “He will be our captain also next season, for sure”. The reassurance of the vice president will certainly enable Inter fans to relish the scudetto without fear and celebrate with the team at the end of the season.
