The 2023/24 season of the English Premier League has witnessed some thrilling and world-class individual performances so far. As top clubs battle out to maintain their supremacy in the league, some players have also upped their level and are battling their individual battles to stay at the top. 

With Gameweek 13 concluding recently, let’s unveil some of the finest players from the season so far, who have set the Premier League ablaze with their spectacular display of footballing skills and sheer brilliance on the pitch.

Premier League Top Scorers: The Golden Boot race

Leading the Premier League charts in terms of goals this season is none other than Manchester City’s star forward and the Ballon d’Or runner-up, Erling Haaland. With 14 goals and 3 assists in 13 league games so far this season, the Norwegian has once again displayed that he is in a league of his own when it comes to goal-scoring. 

After his recent goal against Liverpool, Erling Haaland broke Andy Cole’s record of becoming the fastest player to reach 50 Premier League goals, achieving the feat in just 48 games, 17 less than that of the former Manchester and Newcastle United player.

Following Haaland in the top-scores list is Liverpool’s Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah, who has been pivotal in Liverpool’s resurgence this season. With 10 goals and 5 assists so far, Salah would definitely be looking to catch up with the Norwegian and re-establish his dominance at the top of the Premier League goal-scoring charts.

Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen are the other competitors for the Golden Boot with 8 goals apiece. However, a recent dip in their form could see players like Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Villa’s Ollie Watkins take over soon, who are closely following in the race with 7 goals each.

Most-Assists so far

Leading the charts for most assists this season is Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pedro Neto with 7 assists so far. Closely following him is Newcastle United’s right-back, Keiran Trippier with 6 assists in 13 games. Other top contenders for most assists are City’s Jeremy Doku, Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, and Spurs’ James Maddison with 5 assists apiece.

Some other big Premier League names have also stepped up for their respective clubs this season. The list includes the likes of Declan Rice, who has been an important cog in Mikel Arteta’s well-gelled Arsenal after his big-money move from West Ham United in the summer. 

Manchester City’s World Cup winner Julian Alvarez has also displayed some stellar form this season. Ever since Kevin De Bruyne’s injury, the Argentine has been a revelation for Pep Guardiola, contributing to link-up play as well as scoring some important goals. Alvarez has scored four and assisted four in the Premier League this season. 

Another familiar name from the English top-flight is James Maddison, who has shown some sensational form since joining Spurs from Leicester City, who got relegated to the Championship last season.
