He is all set to open the batting alongside the captain Shubman Gill in this series. Both Gill and Rohit are amongst the best ODI batsmen and are likely to give a tough time to Afghanistan's bowling attack.

Rohit Sharma Fighting Hard to Get Back His Form

Rohit Sharma's current form isn't great as he struggled with inconsistency during the IPL. The constant injury concerns also affected his batting form. He scored 283 runs in 9 matches at an average of 35.37. Meanwhile, Ghazanfar picked up 15 wickets in 11 matches.

The upcoming series will be crucial for Rohit as he aims to make it to India's squad for the ODI World Cup 2027. The IND vs AFG ODI series will start from June 13, 2026 at Dharamsala. Virat Kohli is already ruled out of the series due to the injury that he suffered during the IPL 2026 season when he helped RCB win the title.
