They came to Bengaluru via Chennai and crowd was present in both the airports to cheer for the team and their unprecedented victory. Their happiness were doubled when the Karnataka CM revealed their rewards. The India blind cricket WC win has given the country something to cheer.

India Blind Women Cricket Team Offered Government Jobs by Karnataka CM

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah rewarded the Women in Blue with INR 10 lakhs and government jobs. After winning the inaugural T20 World Cup 2025, the women's team have received huge amount of appreciation from across the country. The government jobs for athletes is a big motivation for them. Even some of the best women cricketers like Jemimah Rodrigues and others put up stories of appreciation on social media to congratulate the women's team.

The team, led by Captain Deepika TC, defeated Nepal by seven wickets to claim the title, showcasing their exceptional skills and determination. The captain turned emotional on her grand welcome and spoke to the crowd present. “When we won the World Cup, I was thinking about the families of each of my teammates, it was the culmination of all the hard work we did to reach here, facing flak from society for years,” said Deepika.

She is a partially sighted or B3 category cricketer from Tambalahatti village in Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border. Getting the recognition from the Karnataka CM and the whole country was a huge deal. The blind cricket government jobs have given lots of motivation to these players who have seen plenty of tough times.

CABI Chief Mahantesh also opened up about the struggle the girls faced before the World Cup started. “It was a matter of immense pride when the whole body (WBCC) asked us to host the event. However, we didn't have any sponsor till October 25. That's why I am thankful to all those who joined hands with us at the last minute and make this event possible,” said Mahantesh.

India Beat Nepal by Seven Wickets in Blind Women's World Cup Final

India's dominating performance throughout the World Cup came in handy as they played the final match against Nepal. There bundled up the opponents on just 114 runs in the first innings and chased the target in 12 overs. Winning the inaugural World Cup was more than pride, it was a way of telling the society that they are worth it.
