Apollo Tyres Takes Over as India New Jersey Sponsor

Apollo Tyres has officially joined the Indian cricket team sponsor list, with the deal set to run until 2027. This move comes after the BCCI ended its association with Dream11, following regulatory restrictions around betting-related apps. As part of the new agreement, Apollo Tyres will pay the BCCI ₹4.5 crore per match, surpassing the ₹4 crore per game that Dream11 had been paying.

This partnership is a big boost for Apollo, giving the brand a lot of exposure during India’s busy cricket calendar. It is also one of the most valuable sponsorship deals in Indian cricket in recent years. Apollo Tyres has been named the Indian cricket team jersey sponsor with the partnership set to run through to 2027.

The move came after the government imposed a ban on real money gaming under the newly enacted Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act. The legislation has significantly impacted the business of fantasy gaming platforms, restricting them from promoting or facilitating online money games in any form. According to the law, no individual or company is allowed to offer, support, advertise, or engage in any service related to real money gaming.

There’s still uncertainty over whether the women’s cricket team will sport a new sponsor during the upcoming Women’s World Cup, which is set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka starting September 30. The situation follows Dream11’s decision to end its sponsorship deal with the Indian national cricket team ahead of the Asia Cup and the Women's World Cup.
