India all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the third ODI against England at Lord's. Sundar was a part of the team's playing 11 in the first two matches of the series but won't be available for the final game.

While batting in the 2nd ODI at Cardiff, Washington Sundar struggled and was even attended by the physio after facing just a couple of deliveries. However, he somehow got up to get ready to face his next ball. This happened during the 32nd over of India's innings.

Is Washington Sundar Ruled Out of 3rd ODI?

According to PTI, Sundar has been ruled out of the IND vs ENG 3rd ODI at Lord's after suffering the injury during the second match of the series. Washington injury seems serious enough to keep him out for some time now.

Earlier, he was ruled out to bowl for the ENG vs IND 2nd ODI, leaving India with just five bowling options for the match. It played a massive role in the game as all-rounder Shivam Dube had to bowl the extra overs.

Washington Sundar Lords absence will come down as a blow for India as he is a key part of India's ODI plans going into the World Cup. He is the only off-spinner in the team and with England having plenty of left-handers, his role could have been crucial.

Playing at Lord's, one of the best cricket stadiums in the world, would have been an iconic for Sundar. However, he won't be available for the big game, forcing India to make a change in the playing 11.

Washington Sundar's Painful Stay With the Bat

After receiving some treatment from the physio, Sundar got back on his feet. However, Saqib Mahmood dismissed him off a fierce bouncer in the next delivery bringing his painful stay to an end.

Sundar's selection has received some backlash given his below-par performances in this format. His usage during with the ball has also been questionable as he hasn't bowled a lot. However, he has been backed since he is amongst the best all-rounders in India.

He was promoted up the order during the first ODI and he justified his selection with an unbeaten 52 off 63 balls while batting at No. 5. Now, the Indian team management will have a task to pick his replacment for the next game.
