Nepal Set To Tour Australia In Historic Series

Nepal have been confirmed as the first team to participate in the Top End T20 Series 2025. The tournament will take place in Darwin, Australia, from August 14 to 24. This series will help Nepal prepare for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka next year.

Notably, Nepal are still fighting for one of the last three spots in that tournament. Nepal will arrive in Darwin in early August and will play at least six T20 matches. The games will be held at three venues, DXC Arena, TIO Stadium, and Cazaly’s Arena.

Nepal Tour of Australia 2025

The Cricket Association of Nepal has expressed their excitement about this unique opportunity. “We are excited and looking forward to participating in the Top End T20 Series,” said Paras Khadka, the board’s secretary. He added, “This tournament is a valuable chance to prepare well for our T20 World Cup Qualifiers in October.” The qualifiers will be held in Oman.

Khadka said the Australian conditions will be a good test. He believes that facing strong teams will help the players improve in the upcoming Nepal tour of Australia 2025. “Competing against quality opponents in Australian conditions will provide our players with critical exposure,” he said. “It will help them understand their game better and grow as professional cricketers.”

Top End T20 Series 2025 Schedule Out Soon

The full list of teams for the Top End T20 Series has not been announced yet. The schedule and other participants will be revealed in the coming weeks. This will be the first time Nepal will participate in the Top End T20 Series. Nepal has shown steady improvement in recent years. The team has become a rising force in Associate cricket. They now aim to qualify for the T20 World Cup and make a big mark on the global stage.

The series in Darwin will also help Nepal adapt to different playing conditions. This experience will be useful when they play in Oman and later in the subcontinent. Nepal Appoints Stuart Law as Head Coach

Nepal had recently appointed former Australian cricketer Stuart Law as head coach in March 2025. Under his leadership, the team played a tri-series in Scotland. They faced Netherlands and Scotland in Glasgow and finished second in that series.

The Top End T20 matches will give Nepal much-needed game time ahead of the marquee tournament. These matches will come just before the busy end of the year. Interestingly, after this series, Nepal are set to play their first ever T20I bilateral series against West Indies. That series will be held in Sharjah at the end of September.
