J&K CM Visits Hubli to Celebrate Historic Ranji Trophy Triumph

The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final between Jammu & Kashmir and Karnataka is about to come to its conclusion. J&K have produced a magnificent all-round performance in the match so far, which have put a lot of pressure on the domestic giants, Karnataka.

It won't be wrong to say that the Himalayan team is set to create history by lifting their first-ever Ranji Trophy title. It's going to be a proud moment for the J&K cricket fans and even for the state's Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who has headed towards Hubli, where the match is taking place.

To witness the history being created in Hubli, J&K CM Omar Abdullah decided to attend the match in Hubli and cheer the players. Taking to his X (former Twitter) account, Omar informed about his Hubli visit for the KAR vs JK Ranji Trophy final match and wrote:

The presence of Omar Abdullah in Ranji Trophy final shows how much the CM is proud of the local players. The JK vs Karnataka final can be a great source of inspiration for the upcoming generation, especially in Jammu & Kashmir, which has seen lots of ups and downs over the years.

J&K On the Verge of Creating History

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, J&K bullied the Karnataka bowlers and put up a monumental total of 584 runs in the first innings. Shubham Pundir was the star with the bat, scoring 121 runs, while some notable contributions came from Yawer Hassan (88), Paras Dogra (70), Abdul Samad (61), Kanhaiya Wadhawan (70), and Sahil Lotra (72).

Karnataka bowlers looked clueless; however, Prasidh Krishna, one of the best bowlers in India, managed to pick up a five-wicket haul. The kind of batting lineup Karnataka have, it looked like they would be dominating on this pitch, but J&K bowlers, especially Auqib Nabi, had different ideas as they wrapped up Karnataka for 293 runs. For Karnataka, the experienced batter Mayank Agarwal showed the fight, playing a magnificent knock of 160 runs.

At stumps on Day 4, Jammu & Kashmir have already piled up 184 runs with a mammoth lead of 477 runs. As things stand, it's just the formality that remains as J&K are on the cusp of glory. It's their first-ever final in the Ranji Trophy history, and they are all set to create history.
