"Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off," she wrote in an Instagram story. "I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace," she added.

Now, the official statement has come out that Smriti Mandhana wedding is officially called off. It was anticipated that Mandhana and Muchhal's wedding would be a high-profile occasion, particularly following India's victory in the Women's World Cup. After the composer unexpectedly proposed to Smriti at the DY Patil Stadium, the site of the Women's World Cup final, Smriti and Palash exchanged rings. However, Smriti's management announced early on the 24th of November that due to her father's hospitalization, the wedding had been postponed indefinitely.

Palash and his family returned to Mumbai later that day, where he was allegedly admitted to the hospital. There were rumors about negative things about Palash. The music composer's family denied the allegations and condemned the spread of false information. Mandhana and the other Indian stars attending the wedding deleted pictures from social media and said nothing in the days that followed.

Muchhal also issued a statement after Mandhana's tweet, stating that he was ending their relationship. The music producer threatened to take legal action against anybody disseminating "false and defamatory content" about him in response to criticism and baseless rumors. He confirmed that the wedding had been canceled, which Smriti also emphasized in a separate message sent on Sunday afternoon at about the same time. "I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship," Palash stated on Instagram Story.

During this difficult period in her life, the Indian cricket player is expected to return to her routine. She implied in her statement that playing cricket for India would be her first goal and that she would be devoting all of her attention to the sport, being one of the best women cricketer. Additionally, Smriti will captain Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in the next Women's Premier League, which will begin in Navi Mumbai on January 9.
