Tensions Flare as J&K, Karnataka Players Fight During Ranji Trophy Final

The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final is currently going on between Jammu & Kashmir and Karnataka at Hubli. With plenty to play for, both teams are fighting hard to win the coveted title. J&K is in a solid position with over 300 runs on the board already while batting first.

As the final debutants, Jammu and Kashmir are currently in a dominant position, with a solid century from Shubham Pundir and a sensible innings from Yawer Hassan. However, tensions rose between the two teams during the morning session of Day 2 of the JK vs Karnataka final.

What Happened During Ranji Trophy Final Fight?

The match is completely in Jammu & Kashmir's hand and after using all the resources and tactics, the Karnataka cricket team has not been able to make any significant damage other than the dismissal of Shubham Pundir.

During the KAR vs JK Ranji Trophy final, there was a heated moment between one Karnataka fielder and J&K captain Paras Dogra. While the J&K captain was batting, the Karnataka fielders tried to trouble him with some sledging, which provoked the batter to say a few words to the short leg fielder.

Paras Dogra was clearly uncomfortable with the short ball which was constantly aimed at his body. After some sledging from the short leg fielder KV Aneesh, Dogra moved aggressively towards him and gave him a headbutt right on the helmet.

Former Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarwal was quick to intervene and had a few words exchanged with Dogra. The drama continued as Agarwal was furious with Jammu and Kashmir captain's behaviour.

The heated moments didn't stop here as a few overs later, J&K wicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan and Karnataka's bowled Vijaykumar Vyshak brushed shoulders with each other. Umpire Ulhas Gandhe also spoke to Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal regarding this matter.
