This is not the first time that he has missed a match. Earlier, he missed the match when he went to Delhi to receive an award, and after Bihar vs Manipur match, the teenager was set to join the India camp for the U19 World Cup, which is set to begin January 15 in Zimbabwe. “He (Vaibhav Suryavanshi) will miss the remainder of the Vijay Hazare Trophy because he has to get in sync for the U19 World Cup and hence will link up with the rest of the Indian team for preparatory matches," confirmed his coach Manish Ojha.

Despite his early exit, the Vaibhav Suryavanshi VHT campaign has already made headlines. In Bihar’s opening match against Arunachal Pradesh, he produced a sensational knock of 190 off just 84 balls. With this innings, he helped Bihar win the match and start the tournament on an exciting note.

Bihar is still left with matches; however, Vaibhav will not be seen playing in the tournament now, and the reason behind this is not injury or team selection. He will join India’s U19 national setup, which will depart for South Africa on December 30th for the South Africa Tour. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will play in a three-match youth ODI series, followed by the Under-19 World Cup. The youth ODI series against South Africa is scheduled to begin on January 4th, with the final match scheduled for January 9.
