He used to play and practice cricket in his house's backyard and later found a place in Fatima College and Queen’s Park CC, where he learnt professional cricket. There, Hosein used to learn and play cricket under the mentorship of two great players, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine, and thus became a professional left-arm spinner. He started playing domestic cricket in 2013 for Trinidad & Tobago, and in January 2021, he debuted in his first ODI match.
