Piero Hincapié - 7.5: What an impressive display from the defender. From our perspective, he was everywhere. He registered four interceptions and won a remarkable eight duels. He was aggressive, timed his tackles well, and was a key reason for the clean sheet. A fantastic, all-action performance.

Gabriel Magalhães - 7.0: Solid as a rock at the back. He made five clearances and put his body on the line with two blocked shots. He read the game well and was a commanding presence. Dealt with the physical threat of Newcastle's forwards effectively. Just a really composed showing.

Nick Pope - 6.5: He could do absolutely nothing about the sensational winning goal. Made three saves to keep his team in the contest, including a good stop late on. His decision-making led to a yellow card, which was a blemish on an otherwise decent showing.

Dan Burn - 7.0: A warrior's performance. He won a staggering nine duels and made six clearances. He was a massive presence at the back and even had a header saved. However, he also got booked and struggled with the pace at times. A combative and eventful game.

Sven Botman - 7.5: What stood out to us was his composure. He was immense for Newcastle, winning every single duel he contested. With five interceptions and four clearances, he was the standout defender on the pitch. A top-class performance, unlucky to be on the losing side.
