  • Cole Palmer was the Man of the Match with a brace and an assist.
  • Ousmane Dembele had a poor game for PSG.

Chelsea picked up a dominant 3-0 win over PSG in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday, 13 July 2025 at the Metlife Stadium. A brace from Cole Palmer and a Joao Pedro goal helped the Blues stun the European champions to clinch the Club World Cup title in style!

Chelsea showed zero fear against PSG and rattled them with quick transitions from the get-go. Cole Palmer had a shot go just wide in the 8th minute. PSG had a few chances over the next 10 minutes, with Robert Sanchez denying Desire Doue in the 18th minute. Then started the Chelsea FC onslaught.

Palmer found an opening in the 22nd minute and smartly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to make it 1-0. The Chelsea midfielder then doubled his side's lead vs PSG, weaving into the final third and guiding the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Palmer would then play a big role in making it 3-0, moving into the final third and passing the ball to Joao Pedro to chip the goalkeeper! PSG tried to make a comeback, but Sanchez denied them with a string of brilliant reflex saves in the second half. Joao Neves was sent off in the 86th minute, summing up a horrible outing for PSG as Chelsea went away as deserving winners to clinch the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup title!

Here are the Chelsea Player Ratings in our Chelsea Player Ratings from Chelsea vs PSG FIFA Club World Cup final:

Goalkeeper

Robert Sanchez - 9/10

Sanchez was at his sharpest against PSG. Made a few brilliant close-range saves to show his swift reflexes. Dealt with the PSG pressing with some efficient forward passes, and was excellent with recovering crosses.

Defenders

Malo Gusto - 9/10

Gusto was rugged and sturdy against Kvaratskhelia for most of the game. He won the majority of duels and also made smart forward runs, forcing Mendes' error before assisting the opener.

Trevoh Chalobah - 7/10

Chalobah was vigilant enough to maintain a sturdy defensive shape. Came up with some vital challenges and his positioning helped to keep things tight.

Levi Colwill - 8/10

Colwill made a great pass to help assist Palmer's second goal. He dealt strongly against Dembele and made some important challenges.

Marc Cucurella - 8.5/10

Cucurella made a huge goal-saving interception to deny PSG early on. Frustrated Doue & co with his diligent defending, making some key clearances.

Midfielders

Reece James - 7/10

Reece James' inclusion in the starting XI raised eyebrows at first, but his composure and defensive sturdiness slowed down PSG's attacks. James provided extra defensive cover with some key challenges and moved the ball nicely.

Moises Caicedo - 7.5/10

Caicedo was an energetic and hard-working machine who closed down spaces really efficiently. He won many duels and ensured PSG didn't control the key spaces in midfield.

Enzo Fernandez - 6/10

Fernandez pressed the PSG players smartly and recovered possession a few times. However, he couldn't create much and his passing was a bit awry.

Forwards

Cole Palmer - 10/10

Cole Palmer was at his ‘cold’ best against PSG. Palmer beautifully slotted a bottom corner finish for his first before another excellent finish for his second. Palmer then played a beautiful pass to assist Pedro's goal!

Pedro Neto - 7/10

Neto was a hard-working figure whose unpredictable movement kept Hakimi busy. He was diligent with his passing and made some impressive bursting runs, sending in a few threatening crosses.

Joao Pedro - 8.5/10

Pedro disrupted the PSG backline with his smart off-the-ball movement and link-up play. He helped move the ball forward well and brilliantly chipped one over Donnarumma for his goal.

Substitutes

Andrey Santos - 6/10

Santos was efficient with his passes and was a lively figure in his substitute cameo.

Liam Delap - 6/10

Nearly made an instant impact, forcing a long-stretch save from Donnarumma after coming on. Missed a big one-on-one chance.

Christopher Nkunku- N/R

Nkunku moved the ball around nicely, but couldn't really test the goalkeeper.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - N/R

Gave more energy and steel to his side's midfield to help seal the result.

Manager

Enzo Maresca - 9/10

Maresca shaped up his side brilliantly and the addition of Reece James added a stronger protective layer to his shape. He ensured that Chelsea held together a sturdy line to frustrate PSG and hit them swiftly on transitions. Fortunately, his players nailed their counter-attacks and showcased admirable defensive resilience to get a huge win. He tactically outwitted Luis Enrique, proving his calibre as a top coach.

Fabian Ruiz in action against Chelsea (Image credit: PSG_English |X)

Here are our PSG Player Ratings for the PSG Player Ratings from Chelsea vs PSG FIFA Club World Cup final:

Goalkeeper

Gianluigi Donnarumma - 4/10

Donnarumma had a forgettable outing in what might be his final PSG game. Donnarumma failed to anticipate Palmer's shots for his goals, and his positioning was poor. Embarrassing chipped by Pedro, but made some nice saves later on.

Defenders

Achraf Hakimi - 4.5/10

Hakimi lacked that spark in the final third. Failed to create anything and was given a tough time by Neto's movement, losing quite a few duels.

Marquinhos - 4.5/10

Marquinhos failed to support his younger centre-back Beraldo or hold together a strong defensive shape. His positioning was questionable for multiple goals and despite recovering possession quite often, he lacked a commanding nature.

Lucas Beraldo - 4/10

Beraldo failed to prove himself as an ideal William Pacho replacement. He couldn't help out Mendes and was caught in poor positioning for multiple goals.

Nuno Mendes - 3/10

Mendes had a surprisingly erratic performance. He struggled against Chelsea's counter-attacks and made a poor error to allow Gusto to set up the opener. Caught in awkward situations for the other two goals and his final product lacked quality.

Midfielders

Joao Neves - 4/10

Joao Neves was arguably PSG's most efficient midfielder. He was highly energetic in winning a plethora of duels and fighting hard to recover possession. Had a header saved well. His impressive performance was ruined as he saw red for pulling Cucurella's hair.

Vitinha - 4.5/10

Vitinha lacked that control or incisiveness with his performance in midfield. His passing lacked creativity, and he couldn't protect his backline, not being tenacious enough in the defensive work.

Fabian Ruiz - 5.5/10

Ruiz did well with his passing in moving the ball forward, but couldn't create much or get into scoring areas. Failed to help out his backline on that left side.

Forwards

Desire Doue - 5.5/10

Doue made some exciting forward runs by dribbling past defenders into nice positions. Had two threatening shots saved expertly, but his final passes lacked conviction.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - 4.5/10

Kvaratskhelia was troubled by Gusto's sturdy defending and tight marking. Lost too many duels and lacked ruthlessness with his final product.

Ousmane Dembele - 4.5/10

Dembele failed to get as involved as necessary in the attack. Often isolated on his own and troubled by the defenders. Had a lively shot saved well, but he couldn't really bring the spark to lift up PSG.

Substitutes

Bradley Barcola - 6/10

Showed some nice forward movement and had a late shot saved.

Senny Mayulu - 6/10

Mayulu won quite a few nice duels, but failed to impact the result.

Warren Zaire-Emery - 6/10

Zaire-Emergy added more energy to the midfield and passed the ball around nicely.

Goncalo Ramos - 5.5/10

Ramos had a minor chance after coming on which he couldn't convert.

Manager

Luis Enrique - 4/10

Enrique couldn't get a clinical performance out of his players and got his tactics quite wrong. He failed to ensure his players helped out the left-sided defenders and they also gave too much free space to the Chelsea attackers. PSG were a bit more efficient in the second half, but still lacked that ruthlessness to do anything.
