  • Harry Kane led the charge in the 2nd half with a brace for the table toppers.
  • Joshua Kimmich, the late equaliser, earned 3 points for the visitors.
  • Harry Kane was the best player on the pitch.

What an absolutely bonkers game of football we just witnessed at Signal Iduna Park. This Bundesliga clash had everything. It was a chaotic, end-to-end battle that swung back and forth, ultimately seeing FC Bayern München snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund. This was a classic Der Klassiker, full of passion, mistakes, and moments of sheer brilliance.

Dortmund threw the first punch. They looked the better side early on and deservedly went ahead through a Nico Schlotterbeck header. The home crowd was electric. They thought this was their night.

But you can never, ever write off FC Bayern Munich. They came roaring back in the second half, and who else but Harry Kane dragged them back into it? He leveled the score and then coolly dispatched a penalty to turn the game on its head. It felt like the fight had gone out of Dortmund, but then, a twist! Daniel Svensson popped up with a late equalizer, and the stadium erupted again. A draw seemed inevitable, a fair result perhaps. But Joshua Kimmich had other ideas, smashing home an 87th-minute winner to break Dortmund hearts. Here are Sportsdunia's Dortmund vs Bayern Munich player ratings.

Borussia Dortmund Player Ratings vs Bayern Munich

Here are the Borussia Dortmund player ratings vs Bayern Munich.

Goalkeeper

Gregor Kobel - 5.5: A tough night for the Dortmund keeper. He conceded three goals, and while he made a couple of decent saves, he didn't command his box with the authority we expected. We noticed he seemed a bit hesitant on crosses. He couldn't do much about the penalty, but the late winner from Kimmich felt stoppable from our angle. It was a fierce shot, but one he might feel he should have done better with.

Defenders

Waldemar Anton - 6.0: A mixed performance from Anton. He made an impressive six clearances, which shows he was in the thick of it. However, being part of a defense that conceded three goals is never a good look. He struggled to cope with Bayern's fluid attack in the second half. We saw him get pulled out of position a few times, leaving gaps that were exploited.

Nico Schlotterbeck - 6.0: What a rollercoaster of a game for this man. He started like a hero, scoring a fantastic header to give his team the lead. But then, it all started to unravel. He picked up a yellow card and, crucially, gave away the penalty with a clumsy challenge. That moment completely changed the momentum of the match. It's a performance that sums up Dortmund's night: moments of quality undone by critical errors.

Emre Can - 6.0: The captain was looking solid and composed before his game was cut short by injury. He was winning his duels and organising the backline effectively. His departure just before halftime was a massive blow for Borussia Dortmund. The team lost a leader, and his absence was clearly felt as Bayern took control.

Midfielders

Yan Couto - 5.5: A difficult evening for Couto on the flank. He was dribbled past three times and struggled to contain Bayern's wide players. Going forward, he offered very little and lost possession ten times. It felt like the occasion got to him a little bit. He just couldn't impose himself on the game in any meaningful way.

Felix Nmecha - 6.5: A tidy and effective display before he was substituted. He created two chances and was one of the few Dortmund players who looked comfortable on the ball under pressure. His pass completion rate was decent, and he recovered the ball eight times. It was a surprise to us when he was taken off, as he seemed to be growing into the game.

Marcel Sabitzer - 7.5: He was a real warrior in midfield. Sabitzer provided the assist for Schlotterbeck's goal and was combative throughout, winning seven of his nine duels. What stood out to us was his relentless energy. He was everywhere, making tackles, intercepting passes, and trying to drive his team forward. A proper battling performance against his former club.

Daniel Svensson - 8.0: Without a doubt, Dortmund's best player on the pitch. What a performance! He scored the goal that looked to have salvaged a point and provided an assist earlier on. He was a constant threat, taking players on and looking to create something every time he got the ball. An explosive and impactful display that deserved more.

Forwards

Maximilian Beier - 6.0: He worked hard and got into some good positions but his finishing let him down. He had three shots but none found the back of the net. He lacked the composure needed in a game of this magnitude. He never stopped running, but a striker is judged on goals, and he couldn't deliver.

Karim Adeyemi - 5.0: A performance he'll want to forget quickly. He was a turnover machine, losing possession a staggering 18 times. He struggled to beat his man and his decision-making was poor. We were surprised he stayed on the pitch as long as he did. A really ineffective and frustrating outing.

Fábio Silva - 6.5: Showed some bright sparks during his time on the pitch. He created a couple of chances and linked up play nicely at times. He was a physical handful for the Bayern defenders. However, he didn't manage a shot on target himself and was eventually substituted as Dortmund searched for a way back into the game.

Substitutes

Substitutes: Ramy Bensebaini came on for the injured Emre Can, but the defense looked less secure. Julian Brandt, Samuele Inácio, Jobe Bellingham, and Serhou Guirassy were all brought on to change the game, but none could provide the winning touch.

Manager

N. Kovač - 6.0: His team started brilliantly and executed the initial game plan well. They fought hard and showed spirit to equalize late on. However, they were ultimately outclassed in the second half and the defensive frailties were exposed. The decision to take off Felix Nmecha was a puzzling one for us. He was tactically outmaneuvered in the end.

Goalkeeper

Jonas Urbig - 6.0: Conceded two goals, but there was little he could do about either of them. Schlotterbeck's header was powerful and well-placed, and Svensson's finish was clinical. His distribution was solid, helping Bayern build from the back. A steady, if unspectacular, performance.

Defenders

Dayot Upamecano - 7.5: An absolute beast at the back. He was physically dominant, winning an incredible 10 duels. What stood out to us was his reading of the game, making four crucial interceptions. He was aggressive, strong, and a major reason why Dortmund's forwards had such a frustrating evening.

Jonathan Tah - 7.0: A clearance machine. He made 11 of them, constantly in the right place to snuff out danger. His passing was near-perfect, which is remarkable under the pressure of a Der Klassiker. He formed a formidable partnership with Upamecano that Dortmund just couldn't break down consistently.

Konrad Laimer - 6.5: An energetic but sometimes erratic performance. He got up and down the right flank all night but was guilty of committing a few cheap fouls. He contributed to the attack but also had moments of defensive uncertainty. A very busy and involved display.

Josip Stanisic - 7.5: A fantastic outing for the full-back. His biggest contribution was winning the penalty with a clever run into the box. Defensively, he was superb, winning all five of his tackles. He completely shut down his side of the pitch. An underrated but vital performance.

Midfielders

Joshua Kimmich - 8.5: A true captain's performance, capped off with that sensational late winner. It was a goal worthy of winning any game. Beyond that, he controlled the tempo of the match from midfield; his passing was crisp, and he was always looking to make things happen. He stepped up when his team needed him most.

Luis Díaz - 6.5: Full of energy and trickery, as always. He completed four dribbles and was a constant outlet on the left. However, his final product was lacking, and he lost possession far too often. He got into great areas but couldn't provide the decisive pass or finish.

Michael Olise - 7.0: A creative spark for Bayern. He created three chances and was always looking to unlock the Dortmund defense. He did have a few sloppy moments, losing the ball and making an error that led to a shot. But his positive, forward-thinking play was crucial to Bayern's attacking threat.

Aleksandar Pavlovic - 7.0: The silent controller in midfield. His 96% pass accuracy tells the story. He was calm, composed, and kept the ball moving with intelligence and simplicity. He provided the platform for the more attacking players to shine. A very mature performance.

Serge Gnabry - 7.0: Looked very sharp before his substitution. He grabbed an assist and was involved in some of Bayern's best attacking moves in the first hour. He was always a threat with his direct running and intelligent movement. A positive contribution to the win.

Forwards

Harry Kane - 9.0: The Man of the Match. It's as simple as that. When FC Bayern Munich were down, he was the one who dragged them back into the contest. He scored a poacher's goal to equalize and then showed nerves of steel to convert the penalty. His all-round play was excellent, holding the ball up and bringing others into the game. A world-class display from a world-class striker.

Substitutes

Jamal Musiala: Came on for Serge Gnabry and added his usual flair and creativity, helping Bayern maintain pressure in the final third.

Manager

V. Kompany - 7.5: A massive win for his side. His team showed immense character to come from a goal down away from home. They dominated the ball and were patient in their build-up. His substitutions were timely, and his belief in his team's attacking philosophy paid off spectacularly with the late winner. He'll be delighted with this result.

Man of the Match

Harry Kane was the man of the match.
