Fiorentina Vs Como Player Ratings

Summary

  • The Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Como ended up in favour of the visitors, thanks to a late goal scored by Como
  • Nico Paz was the best player of the match
  • Roberto Piccoli was the worst player of the match

What a dramatic turnaround at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. We witnessed Como pull off a stunning 2-1 comeback victory against Fiorentina in a thrilling Serie A encounter. It all started so well for the home side. They looked comfortable after Rolando Mandragora fired them into an early lead. We thought it might be a long night for the visitors.

However, the game completely flipped on its head in the second half. From our perspective, Como showed immense character to fight their way back into the match. The equalizer came from an unlikely source, defender Marc Oliver Kempf, who headed home powerfully. The real hero, though, was Nico Paz, who was simply unplayable.

Just when a draw seemed inevitable, the script was torn up. Substitute Jayden Addai finished off a rapid counter-attack deep into stoppage time. The away end erupted. It was a classic smash-and-grab win, masterminded by manager F. Fàbregas i Soler, whose substitutions proved decisive. For Fiorentina, it’s a devastating result that raises serious questions about their defensive solidity.

Fiorentina Player Ratings vs Como

Here are Fiorentina Player Ratings vs Como

Goalkeeper

David de Gea - 6.5: He was kept busy and made five saves to keep his team in the game. What stood out to us was his stop from Sergi Roberto's long-range effort. He couldn't have done much about either of the goals he conceded. A solid performance let down by the defenders in front of him.

Defenders

Dodô - 5.5: A difficult evening for the Brazilian. He was booked and constantly looked troubled by Como's attacking threat down his flank. He lost the ball 13 times, which really put his team under pressure. His final product was also missing when he did get forward.

Marin Pongracic - 6.0: A mixed bag from the central defender. He made six important clearances and a couple of tackles. However, he also received a yellow card and was part of a defense that crumbled. He seemed a little overwhelmed as Como pushed for the win.

Luca Ranieri - 6.0: The captain tried to be proactive, attempting ten long balls to launch attacks. He won most of his duels but was substituted with just over ten minutes to go. The team missed his presence as they conceded the late winner. A decent shift but ultimately not enough.

Robin Gosens - 5.5: From our perspective, this was a night to forget for Robin Gosens. He struggled in the air, winning only a third of his aerial duels. He tried to contribute offensively but his crossing was inaccurate. He seemed a step off the pace throughout the match.

Midfielders

Rolando Mandragora - 7.5: Easily Fiorentina's best player. He started the game with a bang, scoring a fantastic goal. He created two chances and was the main creative spark for his team. His withdrawal after an hour due to an injury was a huge turning point in the game.

Hans Nicolussi Caviglia - 6.5: A true workhorse in the midfield. He was everywhere, making four tackles and recovering the ball eight times. However his efforts were sometimes undermined by losing possession. A tireless performance but lacked the final bit of polish.

Jacopo Fazzini - 6.0: Showed good energy and won all three of his attempted tackles. Despite his work rate, he was dispossessed three times and failed to make a telling impact. It wasn't a surprise to see him substituted after 62 minutes.

Tariq Lamptey - 6.0: A really unfortunate outing for the midfielder. His game was cut short after just 22 minutes due to injury. He didn't have enough time to leave his mark on the proceedings. Hopefully, the injury isn't too serious.

Forwards

Moise Kean - 6.0: It was a frustrating night for Moise Kean. He worked hard and got into some promising positions, but his finishing was wayward. He was also caught offside twice, killing promising attacks. You could see his frustration growing as the game went on.

Roberto Piccoli - 5.0: A really poor performance. He was anonymous for large parts of the match, losing nine of his eleven duels. He missed a clear headed chance in the first half. He just never got into the game and was rightfully substituted.

Substitutes

Niccolò Fortini - 6.0: Came on early for the injured Tariq Lamptey and put in a decent shift. He had a headed chance that went over. Tried his best but couldn't alter the course of the match.

Simon Sohm - 5.5: Replaced Jacopo Fazzini but offered little. He picked up a yellow card and struggled to get up to the speed of the game.

Nicolò Fagioli - 6.0: Brought on for the goalscorer Rolando Mandragora but couldn't replicate his influence. A quiet and ineffective cameo.

Mattia Viti - N/A: Came on late and didn't have enough time to be rated.

Edin Dzeko - N/A: A late roll of the dice that didn't pay off.

Manager

S. Pioli - 5.0: His team started fast but completely lost control. The second-half collapse at home is a major concern. His substitutions failed to have a positive impact, and his team looked defensively naive against the counter-attack. A bad day at the office.

Goalkeeper

Jean Butez - 6.5: He had no chance with the early goal. After that, he was solid and dependable. His handling was secure, and his distribution, particularly his long passes, helped launch attacks. A composed performance from the keeper.

Defenders

Marc Oliver Kempf - 7.5: A fantastic performance from the defender. He scored the crucial equalizing goal with a powerful header. While he had some tough moments defensively, his goal was a massive contribution. He also made six clearances in a committed display.

Álex Valle - 6.5: A steady if unspectacular outing. He was solid defensively and didn't make any major errors. He was tidy in possession before being substituted late on. Did his job effectively.

Ivan Smolcic - 7.0: A colossus at the back. He seemed to be in the way of everything, making an incredible nine clearances. He recovered the ball ten times and was dominant in his defensive duties. A proper old-school defender's performance that we loved watching.

Diego Carlos - 6.5: The quiet partner in a strong defensive unit. He was efficient and effective, making seven clearances and winning most of his duels. He didn't do anything flashy but provided a calm and solid presence.

Midfielders

Sergi Roberto - 6.5: The captain was a bundle of energy. He had a few shots that missed the target and was booked. However, his passing was excellent with 94% accuracy, and he constantly tried to drive his team forward. A mixed but influential performance.

Nico Paz - 9.0: The undisputed Man of the Match. This was a masterclass. He provided both assists, created six chances, and was a constant nightmare for the Fiorentina defense. Everything good from Como went through him. One of the best individual performances we've seen this season.

Máximo Perrone - 7.5: The engine room of the team. He was superb alongside Nico Paz, controlling the game's tempo with incredible composure. His 93% pass accuracy was outstanding. A classy and intelligent midfield display.

Nicolas Kühn - 6.0: He worked hard for the team but lacked a bit of quality in the final third. He was replaced after an hour, and his replacement made a huge impact. A solid but forgettable shift.

Mërgim Vojvoda - 5.0: A first half to forget. He picked up an early booking and looked completely off the pace. It was no surprise when he was substituted at halftime. A really disappointing display.

Forwards

Álvaro Morata - 6.5: The veteran striker was a handful during his time on the pitch. He drew fouls and forced a good save from the keeper. However, he also missed a big chance he would have expected to score. Substituted just after the hour mark.
