Germany U21 National Football Team went head-to-head with the France U21 National Football Team for the semi-final clash of the Euro U21 at the Kosicka Futbalova Arena, where the German unit emerged triumphant, registering a dominant 3-0 win in the knockout clash.
Germany U21 initiated the proceedings, and they opted to give their backline an early possession. It was rather a sedate start with both teams showing hesitation to expend their energy. In the seventh minute, Magassa made a terrible pass to the midfield, which was easily snatched by Rocco Reitz, who made a run to the right flank to provide a cross, which, after a few touches, was scored by Nelson Weiper. Just minutes later, Magassa once again committed a blunder, which this time was punished by Nick Woltemade, who doubled the delight for Germany U21. The half saw Germany U21 National Football Team dominating over the Blues.
In the second half, the France U21 National Football Team were seen with a vigor to attack, but none of the attempts found the back of the net. In the additional time of the second half, the substitute Brajan Gruda scored the third goal of the match, which sealed the spot in the Euro U21 final for Germany U21, set to face the England U21 National Football Team.

Germany U21 National Football Team Player Ratings

Here are the Germany U21 National Football Team Player Ratings:
Goalkeeper
Noah Atubolu - 8.5/10
The keeper was kept busy by the opponents throughout the match. Noah Atubolu stood tall every time, emerging as the best in Germany U21 vs France U21 Player Ratings. Some of France's attempts lacked power and were ultimately fatal. Had a solid positioning and a good presence of mind. He was almost perfect the entire match. In a couple of instances, he made some point-blank saves to further deny the opponents.
Defenders
Nnamdi Collins - 7/10
Collins boosted the attacks in the early minutes by venturing deep into the attacking third and providing some crosses. Had a great role in keeping the opponent winger silent throughout the match. Provided a good amount of long balls, which added pressure on the French Players.
Max Rosenfelder - NA
Had a nightmarish day. Came into the match with high expectations, but had to succumb to a cramp just in the 8th minute and was subbed off immediately.
Bright Arrey-Mbi - 7/10
The centre back had a great day at the office. Was seen making a large number of clearances and interceptions in the defensive third. Whenever Brown was seen struggling a bit, he came in to support the wing back and provide autonomy for the player to move forward into the attack.
Nathaniel Brown - 6.8/10
Was seen in a struggle initially as Sildilla posed a big threat to him. However, when Bright came to support him, he found a rhythm and was seen as much more confident. Did well both offensively and defensively and had a great say in keeping Wilson Odobert quiet.

Midfielders
Paul Nebel - 6.5/10
Though the player was having a relatively lesser contribution in the match, his role in the game cannot be neglected. Made some clearances and tackles, won some duels and even though his name wasn't celebrated much, the impact remained pivotal.
Eric Martel - 6.5/10
Gave an excellent cover to the defense. Had a good role in dispossessing the French attackers in the midfield and preventing them from entering the German half. Was given a yellow card and was subbed off as a precautionary measure.
Rocco Reitz - 6.8/10
Was tenacious in the midfield. Recovered a ball beautifully in the attacking half and made his moves, which were key for his team scoring the opener. Was rather a playmaker in the match and created some key chances for his team.
Forward(s)
Ansgar Knauff - 6/10
Had good dedication as the player was seen making some good runs to defend the long balls and winning throw-ins. Was very active on the left and provided his contribution in every aspect of the game, be it in the attack or in the defence.
Nick Woltemade - 7.5/10
Woltemade was clever and cheeky in the match. Lurked in the attacking third and kept pressing the French backline. When they made a mistake, he quickly pounced upon it and chipped a ball over the keeper. Though the keeper got a hand on it, he snaffled the rebound, took a shot from close range and doubled the lead for Germany.
Nelson Weiper - 7.5/10
Nelson Weiper was one of the top players in the Germany U21 National Football Team Player Ratings. The Mianz forward netted the opening goal of the match, guiding a volley high into the roof of the net from close range. Made an unselfish pass to Woltemade, which was key for Germany in registering their second goal. Mounted up pressure upon the opponents and kept them focused on the defence, and was a key reason for the victory.

Substitutes
Tim Oremann - 6/10
Teamed up with Collins to completely paralyse the opponent's left flank. Had a good share of contributions in the match.
Merlin Rohl - 6/10
Brajan Gruda - 6.5/10
Scored the goal, sealing the victory for Germany.
Siebert - NA
Wanner - NA
Manager
Antonio di Salvo - 7/10
The Germany U21 National Football team displayed the true definition of domination. Entirely dominated the attack in the first half. In the second half, when France was in an attacking mindset, he properly defended and was able to find the win and take a leap to the final. Have to stay humble and focus on the final game.

France U21 National Football Team Player Ratings

Here are the France U21 National Football Team Player Ratings:
Goalkeeper
Gillaume Restes - 5.8/10
The keeper had a pretty unlucky day. He did his best to prevent both goals. Either of the goals had a deflection from the keeper, which, however, found the back of the net as the defense was unable to clear the ball away.
Defenders
Castello Lukeba - 6.5/10
Was decent in the match. Had a great passing accuracy, won a good amount of ground duels involved in and was the source of the long balls that came from the defence. Made some interceptions and clearances and was having a solid individual performance. Was poor in defending the second goal which backfired his team.
Ismael Doukoure - 5.8/10
Made some sliding tackles inside the box to prevent the opponents from attacking. However, the player was unable to do anything to prevent the two goals. He was later deployed in the midfield, where he did relatively better.
Soungoutou Magassa - 4.5/10
Was consistently inconsistent in the match. A terrible and weak pass from Magassa went straight to an opponent, which laid the foundation for the first goal. Minutes later, he made yet another blunder that gifted the ball to Woltemade, which paved the way for the second goal for Germany.

Midfielders
Quentin Merlin - 7/10
Merlin was seen making some forays in the match, which ultimately did not challenge the opponents, as there was no proper support from his teammates. When the three-man defense system of France failed, he took charge of the left-back position, alongside making some constant appearances at the attack. Prevented Weiper from capping some neat moves.
Johann Lepenant - 5.5/10
The midfielder was eager to initiate the attacks in the first half. But just as the opponents scored and got the grip of the game, his performance deteriorated. Lepenant was involved in around a dozen duels, and surprisingly, he was unable to win even one of them. Adding to his disappointment, he was cautioned by the referee, which further restricted his play.
Djaoui Cisse - 6.5/10
Cisse was probably one of the only positives for the Blues in the first half. Was so elegant and purposeful with the moves. However, the player lacked the flair that he has had for the previous matches and he would be disappointed for that.
Kiliann Sildillia - 7/10
Sildillia was a standout in the France U21 National Football Team player ratings, as he was seen everywhere on the right flank, and the player covered almost every blade in the wing. He was initially assigned the RM position, and later he adapted himself as a wingback. When France was trailing, he positioned a bit higher on the field, making some good moves and providing some crosses, adding to the work for Brown.
Forward(s)
Mathys Tel - 6/10
Mathys Tel was seen as a bit more positive in the match. The player regained the confidence that was lacking in the quarter-final. This time, though all his attempts were on target, the lack of proper power and the excellent positioning of the keeper kept him away from scoring.
Matthis Abline - 5.5/10
Was silenced to a large extent by Collins on the left wing. Had almost no impact in the game. Won only one duel, had a terrible passing accuracy and the winger did not provide even a single cross. Was subbed off just after the break.
Wilson Odobert - 5/10
Made some attempts at the goal early into the game. However, all of them were underhit and went straight to the keeper. Was made a subject of mockery by the Germans as the player was having zero contributions in every aspect involved except for passing accuracy.
Substitutes
Thienro Barry - 5.5/10
Felix Lemarechal - 5/10
Loum Tchaouna - 5/10
Andy Diouf - NA
Agoume - NA
Manager
Gerald Baticle - 5/10
It felt like the coach did whatsoever nothing to bring a positive change in the squad. The team was seen leaving space in the defense and lacking in finishing and the same thing was repeated in the match. Along with this, the individual mistakes from his players meant that he had to leave the tournament with disappointment and regrets.
Sportsdunia's Player of the Match is Noah Atubolu
