Sunderland Player Ratings vs Leeds United

Here are Sunderland Player Ratings vs Leeds United

Goalkeeper

Robin Roefs - 8.0: An outstanding performance from the keeper. He made four crucial saves, including brilliant stops to deny Jaka Bijol and Ethan Ampadu in the second half. What stood out to us was his command of the area. Without him, Sunderland surely would have lost this game. He was a rock.

Defenders

Dennis Cirkin - 6.5: A steady, if unspectacular, performance. He was solid for the most part, making five clearances and a crucial blocked shot. However, he did lose possession ten times, which put his team under unnecessary pressure. A decent day's work but nothing more.

Omar Alderete - 7.0: A real warrior at the heart of the defence. We noticed he was always in the right place, racking up an impressive 10 clearances. He was dominant in the air, winning three aerial duels. His distribution was a bit wayward at times, but his primary job was to defend, and he did it well.

Nordi Mukiele - 7.0: A very solid and composed display. He won the majority of his duels and made seven clearances. From our perspective, he read the game intelligently. He even forced a good save from Lucas Perri with a header in the first half. A really good all-round game.

Trai Hume - 6.0: A difficult afternoon for the full-back. He struggled against the Leeds attack and was dribbled past twice. He picked up a silly yellow card for a late challenge. On the plus side, a vital clearance off the line boosts his rating slightly. He'll want to forget this one quickly.

Midfielders

Lutsharel Geertruida - 6.5: A quiet but efficient performance in the middle of the park. His 91% pass accuracy shows how tidy he was in possession. We would have liked to see a bit more ambition going forward, but he played his role for the team effectively.

Chris Rigg - 7.0: A bright and energetic display from the young midfielder. He was always looking to make things happen and even created a big chance for his team. His passing was crisp and he worked hard defensively. A performance full of promise before being substituted.

Simon Adingra - 7.5: The goalscorer and a constant threat. His goal was taken with real confidence. He was a nightmare for defenders with his direct running, though this meant he lost the ball quite a bit. That’s the trade-off with a player like him. He delivered the key moment for his team.

Enzo Le Fée - 6.5: A mixed bag of a performance. On one hand, he created three chances, which is impressive. On the other hand, his passing was sloppy at times, and he lost possession far too easily. There's a quality player in there, but it didn't quite click for him today.

Granit Xhaka - 8.0: The captain led by example. He was instrumental in everything good Sunderland did. With 90% passing accuracy and three key passes, he dictated the tempo of the game for his side. A genuine top-class performance from the experienced midfielder.

Forwards

Brian Brobbey - 6.0: It was a frustrating day at the office for the striker. His physical presence was a problem for defenders, but his finishing was not. He will be having nightmares about hitting the crossbar from point-blank range. That was a moment that could have changed the game entirely.

Substitutes

Eliezer Mayenda - 6.0: Came on for Chris Rigg but didn't have a significant impact on the game.

Wilson Isidor - 6.0: Replaced Brian Brobbey and offered some fresh legs but little else.

Manager

R. Le Bris - 7.0: Set his team up well to compete, and they earned a hard-fought point. His side looked organised and resilient, especially when under pressure in the second half. A good tactical performance against a strong Leeds United team.

Goalkeeper

Lucas Perri - 6.5: He had relatively little to do for large parts of the game. He made a smart save to deny Nordi Mukiele but couldn't do anything about the goal. His distribution was solid. A standard day for a keeper.

Defenders

Joe Rodon - N/A: Unfortunately, his game was cut short by injury after just 31 minutes. It would be unfair to give him a rating.

Pascal Struijk - 7.0: An incredibly composed and classy performance. His 92% pass accuracy was remarkable, and he even created two chances from defence. What stood out was how calm he was under pressure. A very impressive display.

Jaka Bijol - 7.5: A monster in both boxes. Defensively solid, he was also a huge threat from set-pieces, forcing an excellent save from the keeper with a powerful header. He won almost all his aerial duels and looked a class act throughout the match.

Midfielders

Jayden Bogle - 6.5: He worked tirelessly up and down the right flank. He got into a great position to score but missed a big chance in the second half. Defensively he was sound, winning most of his duels. A solid, if unspectacular, game.

Gabriel Gudmundsson - 7.0: A very tidy performance on the left. He was neat on the ball and used it intelligently, linking up play well. He tracked back diligently and put in a good defensive shift. A reliable and effective display.

Ethan Ampadu - 8.0: A true captain's display. He was absolutely everywhere, driving his team forward with power and determination. He won an incredible seven of his eight duels and was a dominant force in midfield. A fantastic, all-action performance.

Brenden Aaronson - 8.0: The main creative force for Leeds United. He provided a brilliant assist for the equaliser and created a total of five chances for his teammates. He was a constant thorn in Sunderland's side. His final product could be more clinical, but he was excellent.

Anton Stach - 9.0: Our Man of the Match. An absolutely breathtaking performance. He was dominant defensively, with four tackles and nine duels won. Going forward, he delivered 11 crosses and created three key chances. He ran the show from start to finish. A complete midfield masterclass.

Forwards

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 7.5: He did what all great strikers do – he scored the vital goal. It was a classic poacher's finish. He was a physical handful for the defenders all game, although he was caught offside a few too many times for our liking. He did his job perfectly.

Noah Okafor - 6.5: He looked lively and got into some dangerous positions. He created a couple of nice chances for his teammates. However, his final ball and shooting were lacking on the day. From our perspective, a performance that promised more than it delivered.

Substitutes

Ao Tanaka - 7.0: Came on for the injured Joe Rodon and slotted in seamlessly. He was composed on the ball and kept things moving for Leeds.

Lukas Nmecha - N/A: Came on late in the game with little time to make an impact.

Manager

D. Farke - 7.0: His team showed great character to fight back after going down. His decision to push his team forward in the second half paid off with the equaliser. They dominated the second period and were perhaps unlucky not to find a winner. A well-managed away performance.
