One of the most popular and biggest BGMI tournaments of the country, Battlegrounds Mobile India Series, aka BGIS 2026, is going to get underway sooner than you could have imagined. As the 2025 BGMI season draws to a close, Krafton has wasted no time in announcing the next official tournaments scheduled for 2026. The 2026 BGMI season is poised to get underway with BGIS. Krafton has also revealed the tentative registration dates for BGIS 2026.

BGIS is one of the oldest BGMI tournaments hosted by Krafton. BGIS has had four editions so far. Each of the four editions of the tournament has had different winners. The last edition of the tournament saw Team VXT win the title in Kolkata, while Godlike esports finished as runners-up. The last edition of BGIS also saw a substantial rise in the total prize pool. It was raised to 3.2 crore INR from 2 crore INR in the previous editions.

BGIS 2026 Registrations To Begin In December

Krafton India Esports has announced the tentative dates of the upcoming BGIS 2026. As per official sources, the BGIS 2026 registrations will begin in December 2025. Krafton India Esports' press release revealed that BGIS 2026 registration shall begin around the last week of December. You can register your team from the official website of Krafton India Esports once the links go live next month. All the details, rules and regulations regarding the registrations are yet to be announced. So mark your calendars, grind hard and get your squads ready for BGIS 2026.

Krafton India Esports also revealed the tentative dates of the matches for BGIS 2026. As per official sources, BGIS 2026 shall begin in January and will end by March 2026. These are still the tentative dates and may change. The official format, prize pool and hosting city of the grand finals of BGIS 2026 will be announced in the upcoming months. The Associate Director of Esports, KRAFTON India, Karan Pathak, mentioned in the press release:

We want to give every player from underdogs to champions a platform to showcase their skill and represent India on the global stage. Through our expanded tournament circuit, we’re creating more opportunities, more recognition, and more pathways for Indian esports to grow, evolve, and shine internationally.

The growing competitive level of the official BGMI tournaments like BGIS is evident from the fact that winning such events guarantees international qualifications and a chance to represent the country at the highest stage. The previous editions of the tournament, BGIS 2025 ( grand finals), were hosted in Kolkata at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan. Much like the earlier editions, you can expect BGIS 2026 to be an open and invite tournament. This means it will have both invited teams and underdogs who will not only compete for a massive prize pool but also for the title of ‘BGMI Champions’ of India.
