Arne Slot to cost Liverpool a major chunk of monetary remuneration
The Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot is set to be appointed as the next manager of the Premier League club Liverpool FC as he will succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of the 2023-2024 season. According to football transfer expert, ‘ Fabrizio Romano’ and as quoted by ‘Transfer News Live’, the move will make Slot, the most expensive Dutch coach ever in the history of football.
Liverpool have reportedly agreed to pay a compensation of around €13 million to €15 million to the Eredivisie club Feyenoord to acquire the services of the 45-year-old manager. It is worth mentioning that Arne Slot’s current contract with Feyenoord lasts till June 2026. He was signed by the club in July 2021. Also, there is no release clause in his contract as insisted by reports. So, thereby the Reds will be pouring the Dutch club a hefty compensation on that background. Although, Arne Slot’s Net Worth is around $7million.
Earlier, ‘Fabrizio Romano’ confirmed that the negotiations between Liverpool and Feyenoord have reached an agreement and the deal has materialized. Jurgen Klopp made it pretty clear during the middle part of the season that he would be exiting the Merseyside club at the end of the season. Since then the Premier League side has been on the hunt for their next manager. But, it seems like their chase has finally been halted as they have found their man.

Jurgen Klopp was asked about his thoughts on Liverpool settling on Arne Slot as their next manager when the German leaves at the end of the ongoing top-flight season. In an interview with ‘TNT Sports’, Klopp has nothing but positive things to say about the Dutch coach, his character, and his style of play. Klopp reportedly asserted –
“Best job in the world. Best club in the world. I’m not involved in the process, but I like a lot about him. If he is the one, then brilliant. I like the way his team (Feyenoord) plays football. Good coach, good guy.”
From the statement of Jurgen Klopp, it can be inferred that he is quite pleased with the club’s hierarchy opting to choose Arne Slot to succeed from the 2024-2025 season. However, it remains to be seen how things pan out for the Dutch coach during his reign at the Premier League side. It’s safe to say with the early trends that the mood alongside the English club and its fanbase has been rather optimistic regarding Slot’s recruitment.
