Brentford Vs Chelsea Player Ratings

What an absolutely breathless encounter at the Brentford Community Stadium. This Premier League clash had everything. From our perspective, it was a game of two halves that morphed into a chaotic, thrilling finale. Brentford drew first blood, catching Chelsea on the break for Kevin Schade to finish coolly. The Blues looked a bit lost in the first period.

However, a series of halftime changes from the visitors flipped the script entirely. Substitute Cole Palmer pounced to level the scores, before Moisés Caicedo unleashed a thunderbolt from distance that we thought had surely won it for Chelsea. It was a goal worthy of winning any game. But this is football and you can never be certain.

Just when it seemed all over, another substitute, Fábio Carvalho, popped up in the 93rd minute to stab home an equalizer. The home crowd erupted, snatching a point from the jaws of defeat in this unforgettable match. It was pure drama, pure chaos, and a fantastic spectacle.

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Brentford

Here are Chelsea Player Ratings vs Brentford

Goalkeeper

Robert Sánchez - 6.5: We noticed he made a couple of crucial saves, especially one to deny Kevin Schade in the second half. He couldn't do much about either goal, to be fair. The first was a clinical breakaway and the second a chaotic scramble. Still, conceding twice never feels great for a keeper. A decent, if not spectacular, outing.

Defenders

Tosin Adarabioyo - 7.0: A really solid debut for the big man. From our perspective, he looked calm on the ball with a 94% pass accuracy. He made a staggering 8 clearances which shows how much pressure Brentford applied. He was a commanding presence in the air, winning most of his aerial duels. He was part of a defence that conceded twice, but he personally had a strong game.

Jorrel Hato - 5.0: What stood out to us was how much he struggled. He picked up a yellow card for a clumsy challenge and just looked off the pace. It was no surprise to see him hooked at halftime. A tough day at the office for the young defender, who will have better days in a Chelsea shirt.

Trevoh Chalobah - 7.5: This guy was a warrior today. He seemed to be everywhere, racking up an incredible 13 clearances. He was constantly putting his body on the line. We noticed his distribution was also on point, and he even ventured forward to have a couple of shots. A very committed and impressive performance, despite the result.

Wesley Fofana - 6.0: He had a relatively quiet first half before being substituted. He was neat and tidy in possession and didn't make any glaring errors. The change seemed tactical rather than performance-based. It's hard to give him a higher rating with only 45 minutes on the pitch. He was just... fine.

Midfielders

Pedro Neto - 6.5: He looked lively and created three chances, which you love to see. However, what stood out was how often he lost possession, a staggering 17 times. That's just too much. He tried to make things happen but the final ball or decision was often lacking. A frustrating performance to watch.

Enzo Fernández - 7.0: The captain led by example with his work rate. He was constantly trying to get on the ball and drive the team forward, as shown by his 16 passes into the final third. He was unlucky to hit the woodwork and was solid defensively. A good, all-action display, but he couldn't quite wrestle full control of the game.

Jamie Gittens - 5.5: We honestly forgot he was playing at times. He was a peripheral figure before being subbed off early in the second half. Only 17 touches in 56 minutes tells its own story. He just couldn't get into the game or make any sort of impact. A day to forget for him.

Moisés Caicedo - 8.5: Our man of the match, without a doubt. What a performance. He was a monster in midfield, winning 7 duels and making 8 ball recoveries. And that goal! A stunning, long-range strike that deserved to be a winner. His pass accuracy was near-perfect at 97%. The highest-rated player on the pitch for a reason.

Facundo Buonanotte - 5.5: Similar to Hato, he was anonymous in the first half and was replaced at the break. He created a couple of chances but otherwise offered very little. The game seemed to pass him by. Not the impact he would have wanted to make.

Forwards

João Pedro - 6.0: He managed to grab an assist, which bumps up his rating. But beyond that, he was very quiet. For a forward, having only one shot which was blocked isn't good enough. He worked hard but lacked a real cutting edge before he was substituted.

Substitutes

Cole Palmer - 7.5: Came on and changed the game almost immediately. He scored the crucial first equalizer and brought a sense of urgency and quality that was missing. A brilliant impact.

Marc Cucurella - 6.5: Was a definite upgrade on Hato, offering more security and a better outlet down the left.

Reece James - 6.5: Added some attacking thrust down the right flank but was part of the defence that switched off for the final goal.

Alejandro Garnacho - N/A: Didn't have enough time to make an impact.

Tyrique George - 6.0: Looked energetic but a bit raw, picking up a late yellow card.

Manager

E. Maresca - 6.5: His halftime changes were spot on and got his team into a winning position. However, his side showed naivety to concede so late. He'll be furious they threw away two points.

Goalkeeper

Caoimhín Kelleher - 7.5: From our perspective, Kelleher was excellent. He made four saves, including some crucial stops in the second half to keep Brentford in the contest. He commanded his area well and couldn't be faulted for either of the Chelsea goals. A very strong display between the sticks.

Defenders

Sepp van den Berg - 6.5: A steady performance from the defender. He didn't do anything spectacular but he won all three of his duels and made six clearances. He did his job without any fuss. A solid, if unspectacular, shift.

Ethan Pinnock - 6.0: It was a mixed bag for Pinnock. He made some important blocks but also looked a bit clumsy, earning a yellow card. He struggled against the Chelsea press at times. He battled hard but it wasn't his most convincing performance before being subbed.

Nathan Collins - 6.0: The captain had a difficult afternoon. He was poor in possession, losing the ball eight times and looking shaky. However, he did make five clearances and almost set up a goal with a late header. A real mixed performance, really.

Keane Lewis-Potter - 6.0: Played in a more defensive role and was diligent, but offered very little going forward. His passing was safe and he stuck to his task. An unremarkable performance before being substituted for the eventual hero.

Michael Kayode - 7.0: We were impressed with this guy. He was a bundle of energy down the flank, making six clearances and six ball recoveries. He was strong in the tackle and won most of his duels. A very solid defensive showing from him.

Midfielders

Jordan Henderson - 7.0: A classic veteran's performance. He kept things simple, worked tirelessly, and it was his cross that led to the dramatic late equalizer. He used his experience to guide the team through some difficult periods. A really valuable contribution.

Mathias Jensen - 6.5: He was busy and effective for the time he was on the pitch. He won all his tackles and was a creative outlet. His delivery from set-pieces was a threat. A good shift before he made way.

Yegor Yarmolyuk - 6.5: A combative and energetic display. Sometimes a little too combative, as his yellow card showed. He was a nuisance for the Chelsea midfield, making 7 ball recoveries. His end product could have been better, but you can't fault his effort.

Forwards

Kevin Schade - 8.0: Brentford's best player for us. His pace and directness caused problems all game. He took his goal with great composure on the counter-attack. He was a constant threat and the focal point of Brentford's attack. A top performance.

Igor Thiago - 5.5: A tough day for the forward. He got an early yellow card and seemed to be fighting a losing battle against the Chelsea centre-backs. He was a physical presence but offered little goal threat before being substituted.

Substitutes

Fábio Carvalho - 8.0: The super sub. Came on for the final few minutes and popped up with the most important touch of the game. You can't ask for more. An ultimate impact.

Rico Henry - 6.0: Added some energy and almost scored himself, forcing a save from Sánchez.

Kristoffer Ajer - 6.0: Brought on to add height and almost scored with a header.

Aaron Hickey - 6.0: Slotted in seamlessly after coming on.

Dango Ouattara - N/A: Not on long enough to rate.

Manager

K. Andrews - 7.5: He set his team up to be resilient and they fought until the very last second. His substitutions were inspired, with Carvalho grabbing the all-important goal. He'll be delighted with the spirit his team showed.
