He stayed alert and distributed the ball well, but he was a spectator for the vast majority of the match. A clean sheet was the minimum expectation and he delivered.

Defenders

Ainsley Maitland-Niles - 7.5: A really positive display before being subbed. He was a constant outlet on the right, delivering dangerous crosses and creating two good chances. Defensively solid, though he was rarely tested. What stood out was his composure on the ball throughout.

Tanner Tessmann - 7.0: A rock at the back. He was calm, composed, and his passing was impeccable, boasting a 88% accuracy. He won his duels and recovered the ball 12 times which is impressive. A very tidy and professional performance without needing to be spectacular.

Moussa Niakhaté - 8.0: Scored his penalty with absolute confidence, sending the keeper the wrong way. Defensively, he was commanding and his 94% pass accuracy shows how comfortable he was building from the back. An almost flawless performance from the central defender.

M. de Carvalho - 7.5: Very lively and creative, constantly looking to make things happen. He was involved in the build-up for the first goal and was a nuisance for the opposition defense all night. Won 5 duels and drew 3 fouls showing his tenacity. A great supporting role.

Forwards

Pavel Sulc - 8.5: Absolutely brilliant. Two assists and he won the penalty with a clever piece of play. He was the creative spark for so much of Lyon's good work, creating three big chances in just 58 minutes. We were surprised to see him subbed, but his job was more than done.

Martín Satriano - 6.5: The only slight disappointment in an incredible attacking display. He worked hard and got into good positions, but his finishing let him down, missing a couple of clear headers. He linked up play well, but you feel he should have been on the scoresheet.

Abner - 8.5: Got the party started with the crucial early goal and then turned provider for Tolisso's first. He was electric on the wing, a constant threat with his pace and directness. A goal and an assist is an excellent return for a fantastic night's work.

Heitor - 4.0: Part of a defensive unit that was torn to shreds. He was constantly pulled out of position and struggled to cope with Lyon's fluid movement. Lost his man on several occasions and just looked out of his depth.

Tyrese Asante - 3.5: A very difficult night. He was rash in the challenge, earning a yellow card, and was dribbled past with ease. He looked a yard off the pace and was unable to stem the tide of Lyon attacks. A performance filled with mistakes.

Raz Shlomo - 4.5: Probably the best of a very bad bunch at the back. He made a few clearances and interceptions, but was ultimately overwhelmed like the rest of his teammates. He tried to organize the backline but it was a hopeless task.

Roy Revivo - 3.0: An absolute disaster of a performance. He was defensively all over the place and topped it off by conceding a clumsy penalty in the first half. It was a moment that summed up his team's display. Hooked early in the second half, and it was no surprise.

Midfielders

Dor Peretz - 5.0: The captain tried to show some fight and was unlucky to see his shot cannon off the crossbar. He was one of the few who didn't hide, but he was fighting a losing battle in a midfield that was completely overrun. Still, he kept going until he was subbed.
