Real Madrid Vs Barcelona Player Ratings

Summary

  • Real Madrid strengthened their top position after beating Barcelona by 2-1
  • Bellingham was the best player match.
  • Lamine Yamal didn't walk his talk.

The clash, often hailed as the fiercest rivalry in world football, saw several stars light up the Bernabéu stage. Though the match officially kicked off on 26th October, the battle had already begun days earlier when Dani Carvajal cheekily responded to Lamine Yamal’s banter. Yamal couldn’t quite live up to the hype he’d built for himself, yet his performance wasn’t disappointing, especially considering the key absentees in Barcelona’s lineup.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, set the tempo early with their first wave of attacks, asserting dominance right from the start. They created more chances and looked sharper throughout; only fine margins prevented the scoreline from being any different than the eventual 2-1 result.

The game exploded into life when Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring, latching onto a brilliant through ball from sportsdunia's player of the match Jude Bellingham. Barcelona didn't crumble, though. They fought back, and Fermín López fired home an equalizer after some great work from Marcus Rashford, silencing the home crowd for a moment.

However, the first half had one more twist. Just before the break, Bellingham turned from provider to scorer, heading in a decisive winner that sent the Bernabéu into raptures.

The second half saw more tension, highlighted by a penalty save from the heroic Wojciech Szczesny to deny Mbappé a second. In the end, Madrid’s clinical finishing in the first half proved to be the difference in this incredible match.

Barcelona Player Ratings vs Real Madrid

Here are Barcelona Player Ratings vs Real Madrid

Goalkeeper

Wojciech Szczesny - 8.5: What a performance from the keeper. He was simply sensational. The penalty save to deny Mbappé was a world-class moment that kept his team's hopes alive. He made a total of seven saves, many of which were crucial stops from close range. Despite conceding two goals, Barcelona would have been buried without his heroics between the sticks. An outstanding display of shot-stopping.

Defenders

Alejandro Balde - 6.0: A typically energetic performance from Balde down the left flank. He was always looking to get forward and support the attack, even registering a key pass. However, he was often loose in possession, giving the ball away 11 times. Defensively, he was kept busy and held his own in half of his duels. An average outing, really.

Pau Cubarsí - 6.5: From our perspective, Cubarsí showed his composure on the ball with an impressive 92% pass accuracy. He was comfortable playing out from the back under pressure. Defensively, however, he had a quiet game, with only one clearance and a few ball recoveries. He wasn't directly at fault for the goals but was part of a backline that was breached twice.

Jules Koundé - 5.5: We were a bit disappointed with Koundé's performance. He seemed to struggle with the pace and movement of Madrid's attackers, being dribbled past on four separate occasions. While he won more duels than he lost, he looked vulnerable throughout the match. He just wasn't the solid presence Barcelona needed at the back today.

Eric García - 5.0: A very difficult night for García. His biggest error was conceding the penalty in the second half, a moment that could have sealed the game. While his passing was tidy as usual, that single mistake overshadowed his entire performance. He was substituted later on, and it was a night he'll want to forget quickly.

Midfielders

Pedri - 7.0: Pedri was a warrior in midfield. He battled for everything, winning a remarkable 11 duels and making seven tackles. What stood out to us was his creative spark, creating three chances for his teammates. The yellow card was a blemish, but his work rate and quality on the ball were essential for Barcelona.

Lamine Yamal - 6.5: The youngster showed flashes of his incredible talent, successfully completing three dribbles and always looking to be positive. However, his final product was lacking, and he was quite wasteful in possession, losing the ball 16 times. He's a phenomenal talent, but this was a learning experience for him against a top side.

Marcus Rashford - 7.5: Playing in a creative role, Rashford was a constant threat. He provided the crucial assist for López's goal and created three other chances for his team. His delivery from set-pieces was also a weapon. He did lose possession frequently, but his attacking contributions were vital for Barcelona's offensive efforts.

Fermín López - 8.0: Barcelona's best outfield player by a mile. He took his goal with fantastic composure, showing a real poacher's instinct. Beyond the goal, he was a menace, registering four shots on target and constantly arriving in dangerous areas. He played with confidence and was the one player who consistently troubled the Madrid defence. A brilliant, all-action display.

Frenkie de Jong - 6.5: The captain was the calm head in the middle of a chaotic midfield battle. His 96% pass accuracy shows his quality in retaining possession. He screened the defence well with three interceptions and six recoveries. It was a tidy, controlled performance, but we felt he lacked that decisive, forward-thinking pass to truly hurt Madrid.

Forwards

Ferran Torres - 6.0: Torres worked tirelessly but couldn't find the breakthrough. He managed to get a couple of shots on target, forcing good saves from the keeper. However, he struggled to make a significant impact against a very solid Madrid defence. He was substituted after 74 minutes following a hard-working but ultimately frustrating evening.

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois - 7.0: A solid and reliable performance from the Belgian giant. He made four saves, including a crucial one to deny Fermín López from distance. He couldn't do much about the goal he conceded. His command of the penalty area and distribution were as dependable as ever, providing a calming influence for his defence.

Defenders

Éder Militão - 8.0: A colossal performance from Militão. He was a rock in defence, winning almost all of his duels and making four crucial clearances. His contribution wasn't just defensive; he provided the headed assist for Bellingham's winning goal. He was aggressive, dominant, and a true leader at the back for Madrid tonight.

Federico Valverde - 6.5: Playing in a more defensive role, Valverde put in a disciplined shift. He got through a lot of work, making three tackles and covering a ton of ground. He picked up a yellow card for a cynical foul, showing his willingness to do the dirty work. It was a quieter game for him offensively, but he was vital for the team's structure.

Álvaro Carreras - 6.0: A steady if unspectacular game for Carreras. He was defensively sound for the most part, making five ball recoveries and a couple of interceptions. He didn't offer a great deal going forward, but he stuck to his task well and didn't make any glaring errors. A decent shift.

Dean Huijsen - 6.5: A mixed bag of a game for the young defender. He made a vital clearance off the line which was a huge moment in the match. However, he also picked up a yellow card and looked a little rash at times. He showed great promise with his distribution but has areas to work on. It was a valuable, if challenging, experience.

Midfielders

Jude Bellingham - 9.0: Simply the man of the match. What a player. He was at the heart of everything good for Real Madrid, setting up the first goal with a perfect pass and then scoring the winner himself with a classic striker's header. He was a force of nature, driving his team forward and delivering when it mattered most. An absolutely dominant performance in the biggest of games.

Eduardo Camavinga - 7.0: Camavinga brought his trademark energy and tenacity to the midfield battle. He won seven of his ten duels and was brilliant at breaking up play and driving forward with the ball. His dribbling caused problems for Barcelona. He provided a fantastic defensive shield while also contributing to the attack.

Aurélien Tchouaméni - 7.5: A commanding presence in the middle of the park. Tchouaméni was a machine, making eight ball recoveries and controlling the tempo of the game. He also showed his creative side, creating two chances with some excellent forward passes. He was the anchor that allowed players like Bellingham to flourish.

Arda Güler - 6.5: Güler showed some really nice touches and created a couple of chances before being substituted. His delivery from wide areas was a threat, and he looked eager to make an impact. He lost the ball a bit too easily at times but it was a promising display full of creative intent. We're excited to see more of him.

Vinicius Junior - 7.0: The Brazilian was a nightmare for the Barcelona defence, constantly running at them and completing five dribbles. His pace and trickery were a constant outlet for Madrid. He could have been more clinical with his finishing, but his ability to create chaos was invaluable. A very lively and dangerous performance.

Forwards

Kylian Mbappé - 7.0: It was a strange night for Mbappé. He scored a well-taken goal to open the scoring, showing his lethal finishing. However, the missed penalty was a huge moment that let Barcelona off the hook. He was also caught offside three times, showing his eagerness to run in behind was sometimes mistimed. A goal is a goal, but it felt like a frustrating night for him personally.

Manager

X. Alonso Olano - 7.5: A huge win for the manager. His tactical setup worked perfectly, with Madrid looking dangerous on the counter and solid defensively. His decision to give his midfielders freedom paid off with Bellingham's match-winning display. He managed the game well and deserves credit for securing a massive three points in El Clásico.
