Torino 2-2 Juventus Player Ratings: Dusan Vlahovic 9.0/10 Brace in Vain as Casadei & Adams Lead Stunning Comeback Secures Thrilling Draw

10 min
Torino vs Juventus Player Ratings

What a rollercoaster of a match at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. This was a classic Serie A encounter that had everything. For an hour, Juventus looked completely in control. They were cruising, leading 2-0 thanks to a clinical brace from the magnificent Dušan Vlahović. It felt like another routine win for the visitors.

But football, as we know, is a funny old game. Torino, who looked dead and buried, mounted a spectacular comeback that nobody saw coming. The introduction of substitutes completely changed the dynamic of the match. They played with a renewed sense of purpose and a fire in their bellies that was missing in the first hour.

The final half-hour was pure, unadulterated chaos and entertainment. The home crowd roared their team on, and they were rewarded with two late goals that sent the stadium into a frenzy. Juventus, on the other hand, will be kicking themselves. To let a two-goal lead slip like that is simply inexcusable for a team of their stature. It was a tale of two halves, and a thrilling 2-2 draw was probably a fair result in the end. Here are Sportsdunia's Torino vs Juventus player ratings.

Torino Player Ratings vs Juventus

Here are the Torino player ratings vs Juventus.

Goalkeeper

Alberto Paleari - 6.5: We felt for Paleari today. He was left completely exposed for both of Dušan Vlahović's goals and couldn't have done much about either. Despite conceding two, he made a couple of important claims and a vital late save to preserve the point. His distribution was decent enough, finding a teammate most of the time. A respectable performance under difficult circumstances.

Defenders

Saúl Coco - 5.5: From our perspective, this was a day to forget for the defender. He was consistently pulled out of position by the movement of Juventus' forwards. We noticed he particularly struggled to handle the physicality and intelligence of Vlahović, losing several key duels. He just seemed a step off the pace for large parts of the game and was a weak link in the backline.

Ardian Ismajli - 6.0: A more composed figure than his central defensive partner, but that isn't saying much today. He was solid in the air and made some crucial tackles and clearances to stop things from getting worse. However, he was still part of a defensive unit that was carved open too easily for the first two goals. An average, if slightly shaky, performance.

Enzo Ebosse - 6.0: It was a difficult outing for Ebosse, who was often caught between a rock and a hard place. He struggled to contain the Juventus attackers in the first hour. To his credit, he improved as the game went on and his side got on the front foot. Picked up a deserved yellow card late on for a cynical foul, showing the frustration that had built up.

Midfielders

Emirhan İlkhan - 5.5: Just couldn't get a foothold in the game. The midfield battle was intense, and he seemed overwhelmed at times, losing possession cheaply on a few occasions. He tried to get forward but his final ball was lacking. It was no surprise to see him substituted just after the hour mark as his influence was minimal.

Marcus Pedersen - 6.0: A mixed bag from Pedersen on the flank. He got into some good positions and delivered a few teasing crosses into the box. What stood out to us was his work rate, but he lacked that bit of quality in the final third. He was eventually substituted as Torino chased the game with more attack-minded players.

Rafa Obrador - 7.5: One of the few bright sparks for Torino before the comeback truly began. He was energetic, tenacious, and provided the brilliant assist for the first goal that gave his team a lifeline. His delivery was a moment of real quality in a game where his team lacked it for long periods. A very promising performance before he was subbed off.

Gvidas Gineitis - 6.5: Played only the first 45 minutes but we thought he was one of Torino's better players in a difficult half. He was neat and tidy in possession and tried to get his team moving forward. He put in a good shift defensively too, but was sacrificed at halftime for a tactical change. A decent if short-lived outing.

Forwards

Nikola Vlašić - 6.0: A frustrating afternoon for the attacker. He huffed and puffed, had a couple of shots blocked, and tried to make things happen. However, he was often on the periphery of the game and couldn't find the space to truly influence the proceedings. He never stopped working, but the quality wasn't there today.

Giovanni Simeone - 5.5: An almost anonymous performance. He was given very little service and struggled to get involved in the play. He made some runs, but the Juventus defenders marshaled him well. It felt like he was fighting a losing battle up front and he never really looked like scoring.

Duván Zapata - 5.5: The captain had a very quiet game by his standards. He was isolated for much of his time on the pitch and couldn't impose his physical presence on the game. He lost a number of his duels and seemed to grow frustrated. Substituted before the hour, and the team ironically looked much better without him.

Substitutes

Cesare Casadei - 8.0: What an impact. Came on at halftime and completely changed the complexion of the midfield. He brought energy, drive, and scored the crucial first goal with a well-timed header. He was the catalyst for the comeback.

Che Adams - 8.0: The other hero of the day. He came on and provided the cutting edge that was sorely missing. He snatched the equalizer with a poacher's finish, showing great composure in front of goal. A genuine super-sub performance.

Manager

R. D'Aversa - 8.5: We have to give him immense credit. At 2-0 down, his team looked defeated. But his substitutions were absolutely inspired. Casadei and Adams both scored, completely justifying his decisions and turning the game on its head. He masterminded a brilliant comeback.

Goalkeeper

Mattia Perin - 6.0: For an hour, he was a spectator. Then his defence collapsed in front of him. He stood little chance with either of Torino's goals, which were well-taken finishes from close range. Made a couple of routine saves but was ultimately let down by his teammates. A frustrating end to a quiet game for him.

Defenders

Federico Gatti - 6.0: Solid for 60 minutes, a bit of a mess for the last 30. He was commanding in the first half, making clearances and winning his duels. But as Torino pushed, he and his fellow defenders lost their composure. He'll be disappointed with how they let the lead slip away.

Lloyd Kelly - 6.0: Much like Gatti, it's a tale of two halves for Kelly. He looked comfortable and in control, dealing with everything Torino threw at him initially. From our perspective, he seemed to struggle with the introduction of the fresh legs of Torino's substitutes and was part of a backline that simply folded under pressure.

Pierre Kalulu - 5.5: The weakest link in the Juventus defence today. He was okay in the first half but looked increasingly rattled as the game wore on. He earned a needless yellow card and was caught out of position for the second goal. Not his finest performance in a Juventus shirt.

Midfielders

Manuel Locatelli - 7.5: The captain led by example for most of the match. He was a commanding presence in midfield, breaking up play, winning tackles, and distributing the ball with intelligence. He was one of the few Juventus players who kept his head as things fell apart around him. A real captain's performance, let down by his team.

Khéphren Thuram - 7.0: A really solid display from Thuram. He was powerful in the tackle and elegant on the ball. He provided a lovely assist for one of Vlahović's goals, showing great vision. He was subbed off with 20 minutes to go, and it feels like that's when Juventus truly lost control of the midfield.

Weston McKennie - 6.5: A typically industrious and energetic performance from the American. He covered a lot of ground and supported both defence and attack. However, his influence waned significantly in the second half as Torino started to dominate the midfield battle. A tireless worker, but couldn't stem the tide.

Andrea Cambiaso - 7.0: Was having an excellent game before being substituted just after the hour mark. He was a constant outlet on the wing, linking up well with the forwards and showing his quality on the ball. The decision to take him off seemed a strange one in hindsight, as Juventus lost a lot of their attacking thrust.

Forwards

Francisco Conceição - 6.5: A lively and tricky customer who provided the assist for the opening goal. He was a threat with his dribbling but his end product was inconsistent. He also missed a big chance that could have put the game to bed. A decent performance, but could have been more clinical.

Dušan Vlahović - 9.0: What a performance. For the hour he was on the pitch, he was simply unplayable. A true force of nature. His first goal was a testament to his predatory instincts inside the box. His second was a powerful, clinical strike that left the keeper with no chance. Beyond the goals, his hold-up play was immense. Substituted with the game seemingly won, he could only watch as his brilliant work was undone. The highest-rated player and our man of the match.

Jérémie Boga - 6.5: Caused problems for the Torino defence with his pace and direct running. He got into some dangerous areas and linked up well with his teammates. Like many of the Juventus players, his influence faded as the match progressed. A decent outing, but he couldn't provide the spark needed in the latter stages.

Substitutes

Jonathan David - 5.0: Came on to replace the magnificent Vlahović and had impossible shoes to fill. He was largely anonymous and offered very little threat. A disappointing cameo.

Emil Holm, Teun Koopmeiners, Fabio Miretti, Edon Zhegrova - 5.5: The collective group of substitutes failed to make any positive impact. They were brought on to see the game out but instead presided over a period where Juventus lost all control. Zhegrova's main contribution was picking up a silly yellow card.

Manager

L. Spalletti - 5.0: A difficult day at the office for the manager. His team was in complete control at 2-0 and cruising. The decision to substitute Vlahović and Cambiaso backfired spectacularly. His subsequent changes failed to steady the ship as Torino ran rampant. He'll have some serious questions to answer after this collapse.
