What a demolition. From our perspective, this match was a complete masterclass from Olympique Marseille, who dismantled a sorry Ajax side at the Stade Vélodrome. The 4-0 scoreline felt like a fair reflection of the absolute dominance we witnessed. This was a statement win in the Champions League.

The game was over before it really began. Olympique Marseille blitzed their opponents from the first whistle. Igor Paixão was the early hero, netting two fantastic goals within the first 12 minutes. Gerónimo Rulli - 6.5: Had a very quiet evening for the most part, which is a testament to his team's dominance. He was called into action a couple of times and made the saves he needed to make. We noticed he was a bit shaky with one error leading to a shot, but he recovered well. A comfortable clean sheet.

Defenders

Nayef Aguerd - 7.0: A solid and composed performance at the heart of the defense. He was untroubled for most of the game, read the play well, and made some important clearances. His passing was crisp, helping build attacks from the back. The late yellow card was a minor blip on an otherwise clean sheet.

Benjamin Pavard - 7.0: Another strong defensive display. Pavard was strong in the air, winning all his aerial duels. He kept it simple and effective, supporting the attack when needed and staying positionally sound. From our perspective, he handled his defensive duties with ease.

Facundo Medina - 6.5: Looked bright and energetic before his unfortunate injury in the first half. He was making good runs and seemed to be linking up well. It was a shame to see him forced off so early. He was doing his job well until that point.

Mason Greenwood - 8.0: A constant menace. He took his goal well and could have had another if not for a great save. He was direct, confident, and always looked to make something happen. His three shots on target show how much of a threat he was. A really impressive outing.

Igor Paixão - 9.0: What a start to the game. Two brilliant goals inside 12 minutes completely killed the contest. He also grabbed an assist for Aubameyang's goal. His finishing was lethal and his energy was infectious. Subbed off just after the hour mark, his job was more than done. A spectacular performance.

Matt O'Riley - 7.0: The quiet engine in midfield. He kept the ball moving with an impressive 89% pass accuracy. He didn't do anything flashy, but he didn't need to. He was tidy, efficient, and provided a solid platform for the attacking players to shine. A very professional performance.

Arthur Vermeeren - 8.0: An excellent display in the middle of the park. He controlled the tempo with a 95% pass accuracy and grabbed a deserved assist. He was everywhere, recovering the ball and driving his team forward. A really mature and commanding performance from the midfielder.

Bilal Nadir - 6.5: Did his job effectively for the first half before being substituted. He was neat in possession and kept the play ticking over. He didn't make a huge impact, but he was part of a midfield that completely dominated the opposition. A solid, if unspectacular, 45 minutes.

Forwards

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 9.5: The highest-rated player for a reason. This was a captain's performance of the highest order. He was simply unplayable. He scored one goal and provided two assists, and his movement was a constant nightmare for the Ajax defense. He created chances, drew fouls, and led the line with authority. A phenomenal display.

Substitutes

CJ Egan-Riley - 6.5: Came on for the injured Medina and slotted in seamlessly. He was solid and didn't put a foot wrong. A reliable replacement.

Timothy Weah - 6.0: Brought on at halftime and provided fresh legs. He worked hard but didn't have a major impact on the game, which was already won.
