The 2nd Test match between West Indies and Australia started on July 4 at the National Cricket Stadium, St George's, Grenada. The Aussies are on a tour where they'll play three Test matches and five T20Is. In the second Test match of the WI vs AUS Test series, when West Indies were batting, Australian skipper Pat Cummins took a stunning catch to dismiss Keacy Carty. Cummins bowled a good length delivery that nipped back into the right-hander, and Carty played it forward with his bat.

However, he got an inside edge onto the pad, and the ball was traveling to the short square mid-wicket position. Pat Cummins ran towards the ball, had to change directions, kept his eyes on the ball, and caught it. It was a blinder from the captain as he once again showed his athletic capabilities.
The umpires had to take a closer look at the catch to see whether it was taken clean or not. But the Australians looked quite confident that the batter was out. Turns out, they were right. Third umpire Nitin Menon took one look at the catch and declared it out as it was a clean catch, and Carty had to depart on six runs, leaving the hosts in huge trouble. Pat Cummins catch could also turn out to be the moment of this match.

Australia Put up Fighting Total
In the first Test match, the visitors dominated the game throughout, winning it by 159 runs. However, the scenarios look quite different in the second game. It was Australia's decision to bat first, and they did play well in the first innings. Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja gave a solid start but lost the momentum midway. Khawaja was dismissed on 16 runs off 29 balls. After his dismissal, Konstas followed him to the pavilion, scoring just 25 runs off 37 balls. Steve Smith departed early as well on just three runs. It looked like the team was falling apart in the top order.
But then came in Beau Webster and Alex Carey in the lower order. Together, they stitched a partnership of 112 runs, helping Australia reach a respectable total in the first innings. However, the Aussies were bowled out on just 286 runs. Alzarri Joseph was absolutely stunning in the game, claiming four wickets. Apart from him, Jayden Seales claimed two wickets as well.
West Indies Rocked Early
When the hosts came to bat, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed on a duck while Carty departed on six runs. But John Campbell and Brandon King stuck around, scoring 40 runs off 52 balls and 75 runs off 108 balls, respectively. After their dismissal, the middle order fell apart, and the West Indies could only score 253 runs.
It looked like the spinners were having a good time as Nathan Lyon claimed three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins claimed two wickets each. There were contributions from all the bowlers as Mitchell Starc, Beau Webster, and Travis Head claimed one wicket each. Before the end of day two, Australia came to bat once again, but this time, they lost two early wickets at just 12 runs.
Both the openers had to depart early as Jayden Seales looked dangerous with the ball. He dismissed the top order before stumps. After losing their reliable openers, it will be interesting to see how Australia will proceed in the second innings. With a high-class bowling line-up, they will fancy themselves to clean-sweep this series with another win.
